# [[068_20221101 Greed is the fourth guardian]] ![[twc-051.png]] ## Session Summary > [!tldr] [[068_20221101 Greed is the fourth guardian]] > We killed the first guardian, which was a Water Elemental that whelmed me and, briefly, Reya, but was ultimately killed by Wally. In the centre of the elemental, we found a blue gem, an aquamarine. We put it on the plinth in the centre of the room and some runes began to light up. > > The second guardian, in the southern room, was an Earth Elemental that Slammed Wally until the tiefling killed it with a well-timed *Thunder Step*. We took the tiger's eye stone from it, placed it in the plinth, and watched as another cognac-coloured ring lit up and began to connect with the mirrored circle in the ceiling. > > The third guardian was a Fire Elemental in the eastern room. It dealt damage to those who hit it with melee attacks, but Wally killed it with a *Divine Smite.* Reya snatched the amber gem from its core and put it on the last empty indentation on the plinth. > > A fiery portal appeared on the ceiling above us, and somewhere inside, we saw a shadow of a warhammer just out of sight. To our surprise, Reya grew overcome with greed and claimed she needed to get it for her Queen. Taken aback by this sudden change, we went to stop her, with the tiefling casting *Rime's Binding Ice* and Wally casting *Hold Person*. There was condensation on the door as we entered. ![[1667330488720 - Combat]] Vigilant Blessing on Wally. Guidance on Xenia. We hear the gurgling of water down the drain. The water leaves behind a blue gem, an aquamarine. It's the same one that is cracked and lying on the plinth outside. The water is to our ankles now! The plinth has three indentations. One has a broken aquamarine. Xenia puts it in. A ring appears around the inner circle of this plinth. It looks like a smaller version of a teleportation circle. We go to the next room. (south door): [[The Vault of Grovelthrash#Chamber of Tremors]] Reya casts *Protection from Evil and Good* and Wally follows suit. I cast *Vigilant Blessing* on Reya. In the room there are rocks in the southeast corner. ![[twc-earth-elemental-room.png]] ![[1667335434414 - Combat]] Xenia finds a Tiger's Eye gem. We put it in the middle of the plinth. A darker cognac line lights up and two glyphs do too, each by the two gems we've put in. Above us, the matching circle on the ceiling is also glowing. There seems to be a connection between the two. *Vigilant Blessing* on Reya. This room is glowing. It's hot like a sauna. There's a font of bubbling lava. [[The Vault of Grovelthrash#Font of Bubbling Lava]] ![[1667338332566 - Combat]] Reya takes the amber gem that falls out of it with a mage hand, and then goes to slap it into the plinth. A tear in the fabric of space and time appears and there is a fiery portal above us, about 6 feet across. *Vigilant blessing* on Reya. She can just see an outline of a hammer. Reya is MESSED UP, man!
