> As we sat drinking coffee, we suddenly heard the tinkle of a bell somewhere, and everyone sprang into action. The Gentleman came back down from his office and asked us why there was a Volstrucker from the Cerberus Assembly upstairs. He seemed to think they'd been tracking one of us. He told us we could take either the items *or* the gold (not both), and then he said we could either get turned over to the Volstrucker, or we could take our chances with the tunnel. He also got Cree to toss Wally a vial of blood.

> We decided to go with the items, and we headed off into the tunnel, which opened into a cavern with running water. We took the moored boat and set off down the river with instructions from the Gentleman about one way going northeast to Lebenda and one way going south to Trostenwald. Not too much later, we got attacked by a roper! It got some very powerful hits in, but we eventually killed it.

## Log
We're sitting there having a conversation and stuff happens in quick succession. We hear the tinkle of a bell (like from a shop) and people start putting tablecloths on tables. We see people upstairs on the bannister that have weapons, but they soon go away. [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/The Gentleman|The Gentleman]] comes down in a hurry. Cree emerges and whispers something to him. A black figure somersaults over the balcony and lands perfectly on the floor. They have knives. It's [[Vutha]]. He moves very quickly upstairs. [[Kutha]] moves into place.
The Gentleman comes over to us. He says the Cerberus Assembly are upstairs - a [[The Volstrucker|Volstrucker]] Agent. We're being tracked.
- We can be turned over to the Volstrucker OR
- we can escape through the tunnel.
As for a reward: items OR gold.
And we got the blood! [[Cree]] seems shady. I can't get a read on her.
We take the items and we go into [[The Baguette Tunnels]] and rush out.
We're told the tunnels lead out of the city. It leads east, then goes northeast to [[Lebenda Swamp]] or south towards [[Trostenwald]].
Xenia summons an air elemental to make us go faster.
In some parts we have to push the ceiling to push ourselves along.

Water elemental finds the blasting powder keg.
Prayer of Healing and we keep going until we hit a fork in the tunnel.
Towpath is a path where horses pull barges through the river.
We see steps hewn on the stone above, and about every hour we see them too.
We've been going for about three hours. We're quite far south but we don't really know where anything is.
As we head onto evening, we get to a cavern that is a bit of a cul de sac that is the end of the line. There's a wooden platform that's been built, and there's a ladder up.
Xenia uses the [[Sanguine Beacon Candle]] and confirms that the vial the Gentleman gave us contains my blood.
Wally opens the trap door and finds we're in some sort of barn. He climbs up. It doesn't look like it's been used much at all. It seems like someone has slept in the hay, but it's all very mildewy. There are dusty footprints and a stub of a candle, a beer bottle. It feels like people haven't been there for a while.
I cast Tiny Hut. Xenia casts *Alarm* on the trap door and Dax on the barn door.
Xenia casts *Detect magic* and doesn't see anything unexplainable.
Wally and I take watch. He nods off to sleep, while I hear a growling at the barn door, as if from a dog or wolf.
