We meet Ieriel Pinemoon, the female elven medic who seems to know Faelee, Riclan and Widrey Stassman, and Lyari Errenath. We overheard Riclan accusing Lyari of sabotaging his vineyard with mud pools and causing poor yield of his crops this year. Xenia also saw Widrey making notes. > > It took a while to convince the Stassmans, especially with Xenia greeting halflings in gnomish, but we finally got them to open up to us. Male human on horseback, accompanied by four [[The Crownsguard|Crownsguard]]. Long, wavy, silver hair. Pale and veiny. [[Ieriel Pinemoon]] is a female elf that seems to be the main medicine person. She seems to know [[Faelee Embersense]]. We notice a [[Widrey Stassman|smartly dressed halfling]], making notes and staring into the pits, then running off. Closely cropped blond hair. Dax uses *Control Flames* on her screwdriver to put out some fires. (*Freaking Fast Fire Extinguisher*) Met someone who says [[Eldon]] came through here. [[Starosta Brennan Keef]]. Crown-appointed governor of Kamordah. There are mixed opinions about him. The whole area where we are is called [[The Truscan Vale]]. Kamordah in the north, [[Deastok]] in the south. This valley is a trading area, a growing area of wine. Keef is tight with the [[Truscan Family]]. Wally knows that the Truscan family, and [[Sydnock Truscan]], are long-time allies of [[The Dwendalian Empire]]. He's the Prime Arbiter of Rexxentrum and has final say of all matters after King Dwendal. He is reputed to be a brutal man with a grudge against religious empowerment. Constantly trying to sniff out illegal worship. [[Lydia Truscan]], daughter of Sydnock Truscan, is someone Wally recognises from [[The Hemsworth Charity Auction]]. She doesn't agree with her father and thinks that he is impinging on people's rights in the name of the good of the empire. The Prime Arbiter is chaotic neutral. Some people say he's lining his own pockets, but others say he's feathering his own nest. People don't really know about [[Vuthos]] at all. There are fairy tales of fire giants or something bad living in the volcano, but no one's ever seen anything. NB cropped hair halfling walks up to well-dressed male halfling. They are older, mature. Beige waistcoat, of some wealth. He is having a heated argument with an elven woman with red wine coloured long robe and silver hair and silver edging on her dress. The elven woman is pretty old. The halfling is accusing this woman of planning to sabotage his business and cause damage to his vineyard. He's accusing her of his poor yield this year and of causing mud pools in his vineyard. The elven woman is [[Lyari Errenath]] and the halfling is [[Riclan Stassman]]. They are both winemakers. Lyari has the larger estate, but Riclan has the second largest. She claims that she has nothing to do with the vineyard and that it is unfortunate. She wants to sell him grapes. I think she's lying and too perfectly. Lyari is an ally of the Starosta. Wally finally persuades Riclan to talk to us. We go to [[The Rainbow Vineyards]], the northern part of Kamordah near where we teleported into. Riclan says Lyari has been around longer than the starosta and has had her land for a very long time. She keeps to herself. He's always been more suspicious of the fact that she has better land than him but he's often as successful as her. His estate has two two-storey buildings next to each other. It's more made for halflings than any other race, although there are other races in the estate too. Xenia salutes all the halflings in gnomish and Dax tells him there's a difference. The non-binary halfling is [[Widrey Stassman]]. They are in a relationship with Riclan. They've been researching - they used to be a botanist in the mudfields (southern part of Kamordah). They're sure that something is trapped under [[Mount Mentiri]] that is causing disturbances under the Stassman land. We tell them about the fire giant city, [[Vuthos]]. They had thought Lyari was the one that was tunnelling under their land. Widrey saw carts of wine barrels going in and out of Lyari's estate. Lyari is more connected with the nobles of [[The Dwendalian Empire]] rather than [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/The Myriad|The Myriad]]. Riclan suspects [[Starosta Brennan Keef]] of channeling funds out of the city - they pay a lot in taxes and it doesn't go towards medical facilities, for example. [[The Well-Groomed Husband]] tavern is a fine place to stay for the night. It smells good and is a three-storey tavern. There are signs about Singles' Nights. A female halfling in her late forties is very friendly. She is [[Metha Applesong]]. ![[twc-metha-applesong.png]] ![[twc-metha-applesong-2.png]] She has a young son called [[Laster Applesong|Laster]], who's about six. It's 2 gp per person to stay there. Another 1 gp for food for a day. A bottle of Stassman wine here is like 85 gp, and none of the other bottles of wine are less than about 45 gp. This is a foodie tourism kind of place where wealthy people come from [[Zadash]] or [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Rexxentrum|Rexxentrum]] to sample wines. Not long ago, [[Kai Arness|the Guildmaster]] was in town to taste wine with [[Starosta Brennan Keef]]. It's about 14:00 or 14:30 now. When she mentions the starosta, she looks at her son. She says he's looked after them. Laster is totally his bastard. Milla needs to do a short rest and lose 3 gp. [[The Errenath Estate]] is a compound. It's a square of buildings with a courtyard in the middle. There's a road lined with trees that goes through an archway. I summon [[Aleteana]] to do reconnaissance. In the quad, she'll see some guards training, horses being groomed, getting ready to go out on a ride. There's a cart that is backed onto the stables. There's a formal garden out at the back that looks out on their vineyards. - At any one time, four guards patrolling in pairs around the building. - There's a guard captain and some staff wandering in and out. - 6-8, maybe more other guard-like people. Dax and I go invisible and get closer. [[Lyari Errenath]] goes out on the horse that was being prepared and just misses perceiving Dax, although she looks like she heard something.
