We then celebrated The New Dawn on the beach of Nicodranas, where we wandered into the Lavish Chateau tent and discovered to our amazement that the performer and courtesan Marion Lavorre (The Ruby of the Sea) is Music's mother. She was hesitant in wanting to speak to Music, however, hinting that it might put her in danger from Music's father. > > We then sought transport to Port Damali and found that with the crew of The Intrepid Mermaid, who were conveniently setting sail that night. Everyone in [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Nicodranas|Nicodranas]] comes here to celebrate. - Crownsguard are not present. - [[Pearl of the Beach]] has rebuilt her hut. This one now has a wall of barrels on one side. - Has made a hut out of parts of a ship. There have been lots of shipwrecks recently. Now [[Dragon Isle]] is wrecked. Lots of people have headed out to find treasure. She thinks they won't find any/much of it because even though Dragon Isle has fallen from the sky, there are still spells attached to waylay people and hide the treasure. - [[Arcos]] is here running around happily. - [[The Ki'Nau]] are the people indigenous to here. Original people. They were routed and turned away and upside down and now their minds are upside down. - There's a green snake that is the size of a very very big dragon. It has many eyes. There's a slumbering leviathan who lives in the depths, in the minds and dreams of those people who would search for power. He's a serpent named [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Uk'otoa|Uk'otoa]]. - She feels the Great Boom will awaken it. She felt a great shift. - The Ki'Nau worship Uk'otoa. They're water people. - We tell her we let [[Aygonath]] down by letting his eggs get stolen. - We tell her we're going to [[The Horizon]] and she says birds know about eggs. - She does not have a *Scrying* mirror for me, damn. It's a "crying" mirror because it has cracks in it where the water goes through it when you shake it. There are lots of tents by the water. - Music out one of them. A beautiful voice cutting across the noise. - [[The Lavish Chateau]] is on the marquee. We know it's a place of entertainment. Marion Lavorre is one fo the most famous features of this area of Nicodranas. [[The Ruby of the Sea]]. She's very well-known. - A minotaur asks for tickets at the entrance. We immediately antagonise him and he tells us that the event was by invite only. - There's a red-skinned tiefling woman, over 50. Absolutely captivating. Gold and orange then bleeds into inky blue. It looks like a sunset. Plunged neckline. She moves with an amazing grace and elegance. Everyone is just captivated. - Inside the tent, the ceiling is enchanted to look like a night sky. - There's something about the way she moves her head that reminds me of Music. There's also something about the hue of her horns and her eyes. - We walk up to another guard, a male elven guard. - Nika says she's [[Denven Quorosh]]. She gets us in! She says that she forgot her invite at home and also threatens that he'll lose his job if he doesn't let us in. - Marion goes backstage and we follow like we're meant to be there. Wally is pretending to be Nika's bodyguard. - Unfortunately she knows the real Denven Quorosh and says that he is male and elven and taller. I show Marion [[Music's ring]]. She lets us come in! There's a four-post bed inside. It's less red and orange and now it's a bit brighter. Not as seductive. This place looks more like a cocoon. - OMG SHE'S MUSIC'S MUM - Music was about 6-7 years old when she came to us. - She doesn't know anyone named [[Opulence]]. - She doesn't like travelling. She doesn't like being outside. - Ava is Music's real name. Music probably just carried out the instructions she was given. - Marion was a younger woman. She is a courtesan. She was just starting out. Having a child as a courtesan can make one seem undesirable and certain clients are rather demanding. She didn't want any man or anyone to own her or her daughter. She was sent northwards from here. She was sent to find a remote sanctuary but the ship she was on was attacked. Everyone on the ship had perished. - I told her what Music has gone through, getting taken and captured and finding [[The Pallid Grove]] and then getting captured again. I told her she's in [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Port Damali|Port Damali]]. - Marion said she wants to know Music with all her heart, but maybe it's "best left this way" because Music might hate her. I tell her I'm going to tell Music and I'm not keeping this a secret from her. Marion is also worried that it'll put her in danger from Music's father. - She gives me a keyring that's like a ruby. This will grant us access through her security guards and a way of staying in touch. - The minotaur's name is [[None Of Your Business]]. He wanted to kick us out but was told by the other guards that we're friends of the Ruby, pretty much, and he isn't happy about that. Wally has twice now antagonised him and also evaded his attacks. There's a huge dance party at the beach for New Dawn. People are doing a freeform sort of dancing, and Wally and Nika dance very formal dances that nobles know. There's no pressure to dance or not dance-- it's a beautiful time. As the night draws in, the inky sky starts to get an orangey glow as the sun starts to rise. He suggests that we head to [[Giggling Gargoyle]] to see if there's anyone who's heading out tonight despite the celebrations. - There's a group of people in the corner who don't seem like they've been partying. - A half orc female there with plaits across her head is looking really tired. [[Imedia]]. - Old guy with a stripey shirt on - [[Bran]] - Lanky guy with gloves on - [[U'legraf]]. - green complexioned elf - female tabaxi, pale and spotted. She is talking to this group in the corner. The tabaxi looks like she's planning or giving orders. Can't really tell. - The [[Porky|proprietor of the Giggling Gargoyle]] asks us if we want coffee. Wally approaches [[Imedia]]. She said that [[Fenkasys Lilfyx Zinyaris Remyra|Fenka]] crafted her sword. The tabaxi turns around. Wally tells her we're looking for treasure. She says they're also looking for treasure. Wally says we got gold. I say we've got skills. 10 gp each x 5. - [[Three Earrings]] is the female tabaxi - and she really does have three earrings on her ear. - [[U'legraf]] (botanist - research) - [[Bran]] (old guy) - [[Dillyu]] (green elf) - a bit androgynous - [[Imedia]] - Wally guesses that she's called Buttercup.
