Azariah promoted Xenia... and that's how we found out that Zeenoth hadn't officially promoted him. We went through the teleportation circle to Rexxentrum, and were immediately escorted to Castle Ungebroch. > > At the Castle, we were summoned to an audience with King Bertrand Dwendal and King Snurre (the Fire Giant King). Snurre seemed upset that we had freed Desirat, and demanded some sort of reparation. We explained our side of the story and reiterated that we were on the side of the Empire. Faint Night is his name H egives us food and takes us to a place to wait for the High Curator. [[Azariah Keycaryn]] walks in. She's a full elf. She wants to know what exactly happened to Grovelthrash. ![[twc-azariah-keycaryn.png]] Xenia has been promoted to rank of Historian. Except he was already promoted to information specialist by Zeenoth... that little shit. Xenia says he's actually 65. Faint Night seems to be some sort of scribe - he reacts when Xenia talks disparagingly of being indoors taking notes all day. Xenia memorises the sigils for Pork Salami and we step through to [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Rexxentrum|Rexxentrum]]. Telva sends to me, but it's interrupted: > I'm really sorry Sage, but... We're greeted by a halfling who looks like a hard-ass. She's very well built. Half orc with long gray hair - he is thin with multiple chins/skin folds. He is the teleportation person. We see [[Telva Cornwrath|Telva]]. And we see six guards-- beefier and better dressed than typical [[The Crownsguard|Crownsguards]]. Telva says she couldn't finish sending to me in time. A guard with cognac brown short hair stands - [[Captain Pachalis]]. We're supposed to be escorted to [[Castle Ungebroch]]. Xenia memorises the sigils for Rexxentrum. This Cobalt Soul library is easily twice the size of the one in Zadash. We are escorted to a door that has multiple glyphs on it. We walk out and come out and we're in a cerulean building with four short multilevel domed towers, polished blue stone. I hand Telva some braided bundles of thought strands. ![[twc-rexxentrum.png]] We're in the western edge of [[The Tangles]], in [[The Court of Colours]]. Some unpleasant smells. Pork Salami was more moroccan-- spices and sandalwood. In Rexxentrum it's much more of middle 80s London but more glamorous. We're being brought east, going towards the centre, towards [[The Shimmer Ward]], by [[The Royal Guard]]. Xenia, Wally, and Nika all grew up here. Xenia spent most of his life in the Cobalt Soul Library, in The Tangles. He didn't really know the other parts of the town. - We pass by Nika's house. There's a flag at half mast in mourning. Nika wants to see her brothers but says family's always been complicated. We get to Castle Ungebroch. There are tall arched stained glass windows. The castle is a smaller pentagon within a pentagon. We finally arrive at an anteroom with red velvet cushions like pews. There are two guards that stop us there. We smell incense and the oil from the guards' polished uniforms. In front of us is a large double door. We hear from inside: "Enough. [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Trent Ikithon|Master Ikithon]], you forget your station." We see a man in his 70s exit shortly thereafter. Human. Gray hair to shoulders. Red robes. He definitely recognises Wally. It sends a shiver down his back to see him. Door opens again and a herald announces the Temporary White Circle. Telva signals me to go along. I shift into the fire genasi form as we go in. It's like a throne room. Empire vibes. Red banners. An enormous chamber. In the back centre is a small platform that contains a throne. On it is a man in his late 60s. dark, wavy gray hair falling past his shoulders. Thin beard tied beneath his chin. He wears a crown with the crest of the Dwendalian Empire. In an adamantine throne sits King Snurre! With two fire giants next to him. We also see a female elf: [[Sybell]]. THere are ten royal guards. There are some there that really look like fighters, and they're flanking the king. We're asked to explain ourselves. Snurre thinks we set Desirat free. Snurre and the King had a treaty not to interfere with each other. ![[Pasted image 20240618224115.png]] Nika owns up to her name. Snurre demands that the leader of this cult should be brought to Snurre so they can take the place of the Twilight phoenix in the hellfire prison. He wants; - worms destroyed - war ended - leader of cult imprisoned. We implicate "The Arch-Duchess" Amandina Darkflame. She's now Prime Arbiter. Sydnock Truscan is the GUildmaster. - The King says he has been systematically trying to root out worship of other gods-- why would he be plotting to bring back Asmodeus? - Sybell Sunshadow I say that the Augen Trust has ways to verify truth of anyone's story so that no belief is necessary. We're allowed to leave. We're shown to a courtyard with well-manicured lawns. We have one room each! In the night, Xenia's door blows open.
