The Temple of the Sun and Moon is my name for the temple to [[Raei]] upon which [[Nihana Chist]] has built her observatory. While the temple is dedicated to Raei, Nihana has hinted that it may also have something to do with [[Sehanine]], and that there is actually a powerful artifact of Sehanine, [[The Evening Moon]], that is buried deep underneath the observatory. Nihana also indicated that [[The Ninth Revelation]] has taken over the temple and wants to bring eternal darkness to Exandria. ## Temple exterior The temple is what looks like a set of teeth across the [[Lake of False Ground]] in [[Vermeillon]]. It has tall, 30-foot tall spires with a rounded top. One of the spires is carved with creatures and faces. The lake slows to a small stream that flows past the temple. There is a mostly-buried large statue near the temple, and we only see a wing. I assume this is one of [[Raei]]. One of the embroidery designs looks like it might be Raei, but the cloth is soiled by three handprints (the symbol of [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Torog]]) in blood. The altar has candles in brass candlesticks. ### Altar of the Severed Hands [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] There are three severed hands here, arranged in a circle: a human, an orc, and a pale elf. They are nailed to the altar, and there is a "J" tattoo on the back of each hand. There are two black candles on either side of the altar, and 4 statues of [[Raei]] in the room. ### Cultists' Dorm [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] There are four beds here. [[Reya]] found some gold and a vial of poison in this room. ### Jail Cell [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] There are shackles here, and it looks like it's where the prisoners were kept. The window is also barred. ### Relief of the Moon [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] There is a relief that seems to depict Sehanine. ### Robe Room [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] This is a small storeroom where we found some acolyte robes, three larger chests (one with a false bottom that contained some gold and a serpent-like dagger) and incense. ### Statue of the Sun [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] This brass statue is of a woman with a sun over her head. Torog's symbol, three bloody handprints, are on the wall near it. The statue seems to have been made by an artificer or a tinkerer. It is destroyed, but it looks like it might be of [[Raei]]. ### Statue of the Moon [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] This marble statue is of a woman with a crescent moon as a crown. Her nose was originally broken off, but [[Reya]] found it and put it back. ### Great Hall [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] The Great Hall is a large, long room that is the main one on the second floor. It is supported by four columns in the center. it smells musty. ### Main altar of the Sun and Moon [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] The altar has a tapestry that has [[Raei]] on one side and [[Sehanine]] on the other. Behind them both is a constellation. ### Secret room behind altar [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] Behind the altar is a secret room that has two candlestick holders containing blood-red candles and a cultist with a dagger. ### Statue of Raei [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] This is a large statue of [[Raei]] that has been defaced, but not as much as others we've seen. ### Secret room of the eclipse [[Temple of the Sun and Moon#Map|Back to map]] On the wall outside this room, there is a flat, brass moon and sun, like a sculpture. They are connected on rails. When they are pushed together, the sun goes into the crescent of the moon, forming what looks like an eclipse. This opens the door. Inside, in the middle of the room, there is a large, wrought iron object for manacling a humanoid. On the east wall, there is a tapestry with [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Torog]]'s symbol (hands in a ring). There are pliers and other tools in the place, all pretty bloodied.
