Tarrin found out that EONS is going to a space mission. Zino's Paradox: there was a cold open about [[Eric Birtwistle]]. Ash decided to try to contact [[Detective Walsh]]. He knew someone named [[The Jeweller]] who was a bit of a vampire and didn't like to go into the sunlight. He ended up admitting that he was one of [[The Unabridged]]. They have found a way of giving themselves eternal life. They're a conservative faction because they don't want to endanger their existence. They don't have shadows-- that's why they don't want to be in the sunlight. They had a nice scene in [[The Ticking Clock]] with who used to be Detective Walsh, but dressed a really snazzy older gay guy. Red bandanna. His name is Zino. Ash wants to maybe make his wife (and himself) an Unabridged. Zino said that if we can collect three powerful artifacts, then that will prove Ash is really dedicated to that. Ash handed over his cursed talking sword. They found the castle and then Ash did a remote viewing on the entire castle. We're going into space! Spaceflight doesn't have propellant and stuff... instead, there is something called [[The Big Gun]] that shoots people up. We start this scene looking into the capsule using the remote viewing. There are three astronauts: - [[Captain Anaïs Bainbridge]] - [[Lieutenant Kerem Kaplan]] - [[Lieutenant Selena Nguyen]] They're seated in the capsule. Captain says they've reached The Vertex, 75 miles above [[The Child]]. So many stars, no atmosphere so everything's clear. Then they see something, even though they think nothing should be there. They land dubiously, thinking that whatever's out there can't get into the capsule. We just see their faces go white with panic and Serena says "It's coming through!" We see black smoke come into the cabin. It coalesces into a dark ghostly malevolent image that reaches towards Anaïs. New assignment from [[Lightkeeper Jezebel Moore|Jezebel]]. [[Avery Choi]] has been to [[The Great Sands]], which is like the Sahara, over and over. She's like an Indiana Jones type of adventure. There's been to [[The Green]], which is like the Amazon rainforest. She's been to a lot of places that are dangerous and distant. The one area she hasn't been in is [[Oldfaire]]. She's specialised more in the wilds and nature. [[Garden of the Gods]] is a dangerous place. A woman named [[Mariam Takashi]] mapped the labyrinth that's in it. There is a rumour that there's something valuable at the centre of it. [[The Circle of Careful Hands]] has been curiously resistant to attempting to find the centre of it. So Candela decided to send someone else-- Avery. But then she disappeared. The Circle of Careful Hands don't think she survived. I'm wondering about Jezebel's motivations for sending us. I roll a full success Read! I'm sure she is lying to us. It's more than just that she's annoying. She's lying to us about something specific and important. She's a good liar. I'm now sure she's lying. She's lying now and may have been lying to us all along. Jezebel doesn't know why the Circle of Careful Hands doesn't want to do it. She thinks there should be new eyes and new blood on it. Why is Avery so important? Jezebel says she's our number one explorer. Avery IS a member of Candela but she's an independent operator, not part of a Circle. She's specialised in magickal sites. The specific orders Jezebel's got is to retrieve Avery. That's the mission. But if we retrieve what's at the centre, then that's a bonus. [[The Circle of Careful Hands]] is already down in Garden of the Gods. [[Lightkeeper Ry Anne Zeddmore]] (they/them) only has one team and actually goes on adventures with them. They have one map but the map is not accurate. The Garden of the Gods is a long hall/cave held up by a number of pillars and it's entirely underground. Despite the fact that there is no sun there, plants thrive somehow. There's a lush garden. There's really no good explanation for why they thrive. Tons of people have died there-- it's a death trap. There's a specific way to get into Garden of the Gods that is maintained by Candela Obscura. It's in [[Briarbank College]]. Candela donated a building to the college for Electrical Sciences. We get into a modern elevator to go down into an ancient city. We find ourselves in a lit tunnel. We hear voices and go towards it. We come out on a cliff.
