Calliope Nightshade went to journalism school, but has found out that working private clients is more her style. She works as a jazz singer at a club, but it's just a cover for her real job. Being a singer allows her access to people who are her real targets-- people that her clients want information about or want to find.
She recently had a case where she had to retrieve a family heirloom that turned out to be magickal. She retrieved it, but got sick from the [[Bleed]] and was approached by [[ttrpgs/The Great Dark/Candela Obscura|Candela Obscura]] operatives who told her about the organization and helped her get better. Callie realised that this was a source of power that she didn't know anything about, and she wanted to be able to learn about it to wield it.
## Background
Calliope is from [[Silverslip]], which is a governmental area. She was well-off and entitled, but ran away at one point to make it on her own. She knows what it's like not to have much of anything and to need to survive on your own.
She saw the coverage of [[Dr William G Weir]]'s journey and that inspired her to go into journalism.
## Personality
Callie is flirtatious to a fault.
## Relationships
- [[John Lyons]] is her FWB, a cop at [[ttrpgs/The Great Dark/The Periphery|The Periphery]] who knows Callie is wont to flit in and out of his life and doesn't mind her flakiness so much.
- [[Young Male Librarian in Briar Green]]: Flirted with him and got his number. Could be useful for research.
