# [[007_20201227 Level 3 training at Darktow]] ## Session Summary Boris and Lira surprised Dajarkal and CTE meeting up in secret in an alleyway by the docks at Darktow. Not knowing how we would react, Dajarkal reacted quickly to our presence by going into full defense mode before Lira put her to sleep. The sleep spell gave CTE time to catch up. She explained that while she hadn't known that Dajarkal was spying, she trusted that Dajarkal had not meant to hurt anyone. She revealed that Dajarkal had been taken by slavers -- a story that Lira seemed to react strongly to. CTE had met Dajarkal in Port Damali a few months earlier, and had pulled strings with the Plank King to get Dajarkal out of the brothel she had been placed in. CTE said that the Plank King would kill Dajarkal if he found out, and we agreed not to tell him we'd seen her. Meanwhile, Ora trained with Silva, the mysterious female rogue. Silva revealed that she'd had dealings with Ora's mother, who had been an untrained soulknife, and that Ora's mother had been alive when Silva had left her. Silva offered to teach Ora how to use her soulknife, and Ora accepted. Silva taught Ora how to manifest a blade in each hand at will. Upon returning to the Bloated Cup, everyone was surprised by a special gift from the Plank King: companions, on the house. Ora took a busty elven woman named Bryn, Lira turned the offer down, and Boris entertained himself with two elven companions. Later that night, Boris had a dream that seemed to be of an earlier time. In the dream, a woman named Leylas called him "Kogas Ironcutter", a drow man who had apparently unearthed an artifact-- the same pulsing gray dodecahedron Boris had seen lying on the seabed in the ruins of Palma Flora. Leylas expressed concerns about the leader of the expedition, Nallo, having control over such a powerful artifact. Boris suggested that they run away with the artifact. As Boris woke up from the dream in the bed at the Bloated Cup, elven companions, long gone, all he remembered was the red sky from his dream, and the legend among his people of a day when the sky turned red. ^summary ## Housekeeping - Ora got one level of exhaustion: disadvantage on ability checks. - Characters can die, but all that will happen is that you'll need to bring another character who will join the party in the next game. ## Recap ![[006_20201220 Meeting the Plank King#^summary]] ## Strong start - Boris and Lira > [[Dajarkal]] immediately stiffens, reaches her hand up to touch Three Earrings on the arm, and you watch as Three Earrings's fur ripples, then solidifies into what looks like bark. She extends her other arm towards us, yelling something in a language we don't understand-- and seeing that Dajarkal is casting something at us, Lira's going to try to cast Sleep. At 2nd level. - Ora > You're standing in an abandoned building, just a few meters from where you last left Lira and Boris. You're at 1 HP, and a strange woman has you grappled to the floor. One of her hands is glowing with a red fire that solidifies into a pointed blade, and she's looking at your hand, which she's just bashed into the wall and is now sporting a small, but deadly-looking, black. As you stare at it, it seems to move, like smoke, or shadows. And then, as you watch, it's almost like it gets extinguished, and you're just staring at your knuckle. It hurts, but the flesh looks untouched.
