# [[014_20210220 Temple of the Cloaked Serpent - Poison Room]]
## Session Summary
The party drank the contents of glass vials they found in the alcoves, which let them see some fluorescent scribblings on the wall that gave each alcove group a piece of the information they needed to relay to Three Earrings, who was stationed outside. Three Earrings drank one of the potions as instructed, which let her walk across the pool of poisonous liquid and to a platform with a panel. When CTE pressed the panel, stone slid into place over the pool and the stone walls keeping the rest of the party separate also began to slide away. Reunited, you pressed on, temporarily set back by a poison trap on the snake mosaic on the door. The next room was revealed to be a long, narrow hallway leading to a large, motionless shape at the end of it. Boris, forging ahead, discovered that the walls had spitting stone snakes that sense pressure on the floor below. Together the party has managed to figure out some actions that seem to hinder it: attacking the snakes, disarming the mechanism powering them, and investigating them. Each action seemed to slow the snakes and make them less likely to hit. However, Ora realized that each time the snakes did not hit someone, they seemed to speed up and raise the chances of their next attack hitting. ^summary

## Strong start
Boris and Jamedi have just reached for the vials on the table in their respective alcove. Lira and Ora, watching next to them, notice now - too late - that the stone beneath the vials springs up slightly. They were on pressure plates. There's nothing, for a few seconds, then a slight click. Then a ticking noise starts.
We're going to go back and forth here. Since Lira and Jamedi are in both rooms, we're going to assume they're helping you, so you can work together to find out what happens even though you're in separate rooms. Boris, what are you doing?

### The Poison Room: the pool of poison
- On the table is a hidden message in Draconic: "Kill slowly."
- No more carvings of Uk'otoa past this point
- The stone floor extends 50 feet past the table, and the part that slid into place over the pool is a lighter color and less worn than the surrounding stone.
- A bit of a shell necklace lies on the floor - a remnant from someone perhaps not as clever.
- Snake mosaic on locked door. Made of panels that are green and black. They're reflective and iridescent, as if made from shells. The way they throw light makes it look like the snakes move when you move.
### The Assassin's Gauntlet
- Hidden message in ancient Draconic: "Strike quickly and without reason."
- At the end, a statue of a six-armed humanoid with a gargantuan serpentine head, fanged and frilled in agression guards the [[Lash of Shadows]].
- Relief depicts the [[The Arms of the Betrayers]].
### The Chamber of Darkness
- (outside), a hidden message in ancient Draconic: "The night is your greatest ally."
- The dead, withered carcass of a large serpent lies inert on the floor. (later) The corrupted guardian naga comes to life, iridescent scales glinting.
- There is an invisible pool of water that can only be found by Boris, Ora, and Lira, who took the potions. (DC 15 with eyes closed.)
