# [[020_20210404 Repairs at Rumblecusp]]
## Session Summary
The Wavechaser had sustained a lot of damage from the fight with Thunder, and there was a serious danger of not getting to Rumblecusp despite the crew's attempt at repairs. However, Boris used his feather token to create a large, swan-shaped boat that carried some of the crew as well as some rations, making the Wavechaser more buoyant. You arrived safely in Rumblecusp, where you immediately got started with gathering some wood from the nearby forest. Running out of already fallen trees to scavenge, Boris chopped down a tree, causing three dryads to attack. The dryads turned some friends into allies. You managed to kill two of them, and the third was killed by a roaring bear that has just stepped into your sight. ^summary
## Housekeeping
You didn't get a long rest in - all we did this day was fight Thunder, so it's about 10 am. We can't have a long rest so quickly after one. We can have a short rest though!

- Are you satisfied with the feat you selected at Level 4? I'll let you change that if you want. https://www.dndbeyond.com/feats
- Boris, you already changed your feat. Don't forget you can now add another damage die to your roll once per short rest, and you can make another attack if you do use your Relentless Endurance

## Strong start
Boris has just dealt the killing blow that was the end of Thunder, the Dragon Turtle. Thunder's carcass is gently sinking below the waves, and Boris, Lira, and Ora have just gotten back on the ship after watching his body sink. The sun isn't yet at its highest point, but it's broad daylight.
Captain Three Earrings is talking to [[Heidi Axebeard]], the first mate, who is listing the damage that the ship has sustained.
- The worst of it is the hull, Captain. She's leaking badly. I've got Boerth attempting to take care of the worst, but he thinks it's only going to be temporary. We may not make it to Rumblecusp.
- There's a nasty rip in the sails, but I've got the green guy, Dillyu, mendin' tha' one.
- Amber's smelt'n some more o' the mangonel stones t'replace what we used, in case we run inta more trouble.
Captain Three Earrings asks her: "Anyone hurt?"
"No, Delphine," Heidi says. "Ol' Orly took a blow t'he face when that thing lifted the boat, but otherwise nobody was hurt. "
"Good. I want you to do an inventory of the rations. I assume you stocked up for Damali, yes? We may have to throw some overboard to make us lighter. See what Boerth says."
## Scenes

- [x] The jungle of Rumblecusp
- [x] Encounter: 3 x dryads or 4 x displacer beasts (depending on whether or not they start cutting down trees)
- [x] [[Flint]] and [[Jannika Jäger]] come out and scare the monsters away and carry off the carcass of a displacer beast.
## Secrets and Clues
- [ ] Zehir has struck deals with each of the [[Betrayer Gods]] to help him permanently banish [[Uk'otoa]], but the same magic would break the chains and set him free, so each of the Betrayer Gods has sent out an [[The Arms of the Betrayers|arm of the betrayer]] to guard each temple. There are nine in total, but only four of them guard chains. Those that don't guard chains guard clues to the locations of the chains.
- [ ] [[Trent Ikithon]] is assembling an elite army to go to [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/Xhorhas]] and will try to get [[Ora]] to return to him.
- [ ] Lira has slept with CTE once in an attempt to ascertain more about her motivations.
- [ ] Jamedi does bloodletting rituals every day to practice his hemocraft.
- [ ] Flint is a were-bear, and so is his wife Honeythorn, whom he's accidentally gotten too rough with at the wrong time of the month.
- [ ] CTE will try to avoid Ora because of their night together. She won't want to get too close. She will immediately put the moves on Jannika.
- [ ] Boris's [[Lash of Shadows]] can poison a creature in combat (Dead Eyes and Serpent Venom).
- [ ] Nobody in Vo remembers where they've come from, but they all believe they are in center of Exandria and that Vokodo is a god worth worshipping.
- [ ] Little Finger, an 8-year-old halfling boy, is the only one who is immune to the effect on Vo.
- [ ] The mist is poison and causes a foggy confusion and feeling of being watched. Every night spent on the island triggers an Investigation check (DC 10 at the beginning, climbing by 5 for every day thereafter). Upon failure, players must choose an item to lose.
## Fantastic Locations
- [x] [[Rumblecusp]]
- The most striking feature of the island is the gigantic volcano that looms large from the very center of it, but the volcano has not erupted in many years, and has made the ground surrounding it very fertile.
- A lush forest sits at the base of the mountain, with 100-foot-high trees.
- A mist encircles the base of the mountain, hiding the kobold encampment from view.
- [x] Rumblecusp jungle
- 100-foot trees shooting straight up into the sky from sturdy, wide trunks
- Dappled sunlight peeks through leaves and casts interesting patterns of shadow on the vegetation
- Strikingly bright purple flowers by the ground near trees
- [ ] Vo village
- The dense canopy gives way to a natural clearing around a massive tree
- When you look up, you see what looks like wood and branches strung together with twine and leaves from tree to tree, forming a network of treetop structures.
- Every structure is different, and some of them look like they've been salvaged - one has the ornate metal statue still attached to what looks like the bow of ship.
## NPCs
- [ ] [[Flint]], male dwarven cleric and werebear, his wife Honeythorn (also secretly a werebear), daughter Rivulet
- [ ] Little Finger
