# [[027_20210606 Bridge over troubled lava]] ## Session Summary Ora's father sent a message to her telepathically, reminding her that she wasn't some commoner and that she should remember what he's taught her. He then said a word, _Lumos_, that caused her to cast a globe of light-- a "sign of good faith", according to him. We pressed on into the narrow passageway, where Ora easily identified and disarmed a crude trap. Following it down, you came across a hatchery: a small, damp, and dank room where it seemed that kobold and snake eggs alike were kept for safekeeping. After briefly considering whether to destroy the hatchery, we decided to leave it alone and press forward into the other door from the first cavern. We came into a larger chamber where a gruesome circle of dismembered and flayed corpses had been placed. We found some magical items in the piles of stuff around the corpses, and were surprised both by the presence of a kobold assassin that revealed itself and by the expert and deadly way that Eryn revealed herself to be more than the average half-elf. She admitted that she may have abilities beyond healing. The kobold assassin, perhaps sensing it could not win, turned and fled into the next chamber. Rather than pursuing, we took a short rest. When we got to the next chamber, we found two assassins waiting for us in a larger cavern with a chasm in the rocky surface leading to burning magma below, and a rickety wooden bridge going from one rocky edge to another.
