# [[039_20210926 Perriweather's Heist]]
## Session Summary
Ora reads the thoughts that were left behind in the room, and finds out some more information about Dr. Perriweather's motivations, as well as a few things about the owner of the Moonlight Chateau, Chessia Wakiam. He also mentioned someone named Touchard.
The Slayers Five leave the Chateau, and Ora spots someone tailing her and Ari. Ora quickly communicates this to Boris, who successfully grapples the stranger. The stranger identifies himself as Adanor from the Cobalt Soul. He gives Ora a coin, saying that a common acquaintance, someone he called the Cobalt Displacer, had recommended that he speak to her and her party. He instructed her to go to the Library of the Cobalt Soul, present the coin, and ask for him.
The next morning, you meet with Dr. Waldorf Perriweather in his home in The Crescents, who asks you to steal something for him before he talks to them. The item is a ring that he claims was given to him. You found him untrustworthy and dislikable, and he lets his guards escort you out.
You go to The Owlery and tell the Plank King that you don't trust Perriweather, and he tells you that tensions between The Revelry and the Clovis Concord are increasing, and that negotiating with The Myriad may be a good thing for The Revelry. He instructs you to find another member of The Myriad and conduct negotiations for an alliance with them instead. ^summary

## Recap
![[038_202109019 Seduction at the Moonlight Chateau#^summary]]
## Strong start
> Boris, you're still looking around, clocking the orcish bodyguards that the Doctor came with, when you hear this large roar, and you see Flint emerge, stark naked, in his dwarvish form, outside one of the velvet-curtained rooms. His hair is disheveled, and some of the metal beads he has woven into his beard clink together as he throws his head back, shakes it in sheer delight and yells "Eureka!" Several of the guards that are here, including the two orcs, all have reflexively tightened their grip on their weapons. One of the orcs, the one that was sitting at a table scouting the place, has stood up and drawn what looks like a meat cleaver. The one that is next to the door that Ora and "Ari" disappeared into, has taken a ready stance-- but without weapons. It's a trained stance, hands in front, eyes alert, and jarringly disciplined in the orcs you are familiar with.
> But as Flint laughs almost manically, the tension eases again, and some people just shake their heads as Flint allows himself to be pulled back into the room by a feminine hand.
> A few hours later-- around 2 AM, Doctor Perriweather comes out of the room. He doesn't even look at his orcish guard, and the orc doesn't say anything, but the orc follows behind Perriweather. You watch as the halfling man puts on a coat that the orc produces, and steps towards the exit. As he steps closer to you, his face gets more and more familiar. It's pretty dim here, so you're probably just not seeing right, but by the time he gets to you, you're positive he's the halfling man you dropped off in Port Damali, who palmed you 50 gp for the trip.
> Getting to where we left off last time, he recognizes you and invites you to his home in The Crescents at 11 am, and then leaves. The orc behind him, without weapons, kind of clocks you but says nothing, and they leave with the other orc.
## Scenes
Start: 02:00
- [x] Ora reads the doctor's thoughts (Investigation check)
- Places you shouldn't visit: _Poor thing, she doesn't know she's already working for one of the most dangerous women in the city._
- _Xhorhas, everything's about Xhorhas these days. Those drow and their prudish eccentricities don't seem like they have the stomach for war._
- _Chessia'll get her hooks into these twins soon enough._
- _If I could just get the ring, imagine the look on Touchard's face!_
- _I am wasted as a guard dog for this man._
- _Good thing I can prestidigitate this mess away afterwards._
- [x] Ask Boris if he wants to stay here or take a long rest.
- [x] [[Aro|Aro]] asks Ora how she is able to change her appearance. If she tells him she's a changeling from Palebank Village, or anything about her father, he'll show him that he's a changeling, too.
- [x] [[Adanor]], the Cobalt Serpent, trails Ora and watches her. If he gets her alone, he will attempt to fight her. Aro will show their Shadow Blade (to be seen by another person tailing them, from the Myriad.) Otherwise, he will deliver her a message and leave: _We have a common acquaintance, who might have been right about you and your group. Maybe you're not too old to be trained. Maybe the doors of the [[Cobalt Soul]] could open for you._ And he'll give her a small coin with the symbol of the Cobalt Soul.
- [x] The next morning, [[Aro|Aro]] is gone. He does not say anything to anyone.
- [x] Meeting with [[Doctor Waldorf Perriweather]]: [[Heist of the Black Viper]]
- [ ] [[Elanza]] wants to come with them, but [[Joao]] does not. She'll do her best to contact the customers who have left some weapons to be repaired.
## Secrets and Clues

couch with red and gold embroidery
They found [[Doctor Waldorf Perriweather]] untrustworthy and they didn't like at all the fact that he wanted them to steal for him. They didn't buy his story that he needed to be certain of their allegiances.
They send a message to the [[Plank King]]:
> Doctor wouldn't confirm with you that we were here on your behalf. Made no mention of the third party he's representing. Don't think he's trustworthy.
> Not enough information on the Myriad. Do you have another contact?
The Plank King instruct them to find another member of the Myriad and talk to them.
