# [[043_20211120 The Crossing in the Carnival]] ## Session Summary Ora, Lira, and Jamedi went to the Mystery Mine, looked into Zephixo's All-Seeing Eye, and rode a rollercoaster that confronted them with their fears. Ora and Lira couldn't help but be terrified by what they saw, while Jamedi took it all in his stride. Then, they split up: Ora and Jamedi took a ride in a magical bubble at the Bubble-Pot Teapot while Ora went to the Big Top to successfully audition to perform at the Big Top Extravaganza under the purview of the fabulous swangola sweetheart, Feathereen. She got to meet the two owners of the carnival, Mr Witch and Mr Light, who hinted that they might be able to reveal some more information if she managed to apprehend Topplepot, the "kenku troublemaker". Meanwhile, Boris, Flint, and Kettlesteam went to the Pixie Kingdom, drank potions to make themselves tiny, and cavorted with pixies-- or, at least, Boris and Flint did, while Kettlesteam examined the area, looking for a portal. Boris and Flint then proceeded to the Hall of Illusions, where they met the mute, monochromatic mime, Candlefoot, who managed to convey that his voice had been stolen by a bird. Ora, listening to Boris relay this, remembered that she had seen a bird-like creature fleeing the Hall of Illusions and heading towards the Snail Racing tent, so Boris and Flint headed there. Flint got to play race jockey on the back of a giant snail, while Boris successfully captured the troublesome heckler, Topplepot, whom he dragged forcibly back to the Hall of Illusions. After some discussion, Topplepot revealed herself to be Diesa Torunn, daughter of Dain, and said that she was there to figure out the mystery of how to make Pride's Call silk. She promised to give the party some if they let her tag along to Prismeer. The party returned to Mr Witch and Mr Light, who did share as much as they could before a strange compulsion took over and stopped them from speaking. Not to be thwarted, Ora used her Psychic Whispers on them, and was able to persuade them to reveal even more information. They told her about the Hourglass Coven, the trio of hags that now ruled Prismeer, and Endelyn Moongrave, the third of them, with whom they'd made a fey pact that prevented them from speaking about her. Under the terms of the pact, each hag was allowed to send a trusted thief to the Carnival to try to tempt people without tickets to follow them into the Feywild. Mr Light stayed behind to prepare for the Big Top Extravaganza, while Mr Witch guided them (including Kettlesteam) to the Hall of Illusions, where he taught everyone an incantation that turned the mirrors into pond-like portals.
