# [[054_20220313 Endelyn's Betrayal]] ## Session Summary The Slayers Five began to set up a trap for Endelyn Moongrave. Jamedi cast Alarm and Pass without Trace, Flint cast Death Ward on Ora, Ora shapeshifted into the form of Bavlorna, and everyone but Ora waited in the corridor, magically reduced in size and ready to spring out and surprise Endelyn. To everyone's astonishment, Skabatha Nightshade, and not Endelyn, showed up. She chit-chatted with Ora (aka Bavlorna) for a while, until the rest of the party's _Reduce_ spell wore off and battle began. Not too long afterwards, Endelyn apparated in. Both the hags proved quite powerful, though Endelyn was clearly the more dangerous of the two. With Boris _polymorphed_ and Jamedi unconscious, it seemed at one point like the battle might have been lost. Luckily for the party, their little deceptions began to take root of the seeds of doubt and truth in Skabatha's head, as Endelyn eventually turned on her, seeming to have taken advantage of the situation. The Grim Accord, who had been watching the party for a while, joined the fight against the two hags, and even brain-addled Diesa contributed to the fight somewhat. With the writing on the wall, Skabatha attempted to _planar shift_, but she was counterspelled by Jamedi, and then by Endelyn, who stole two items from her sister just before _planar shifting_ out herself. With her dying breath, Skabatha confided to Ora a bit of advice she believed would help them kill her sister. She said that Endelyn had foreseen her death, and believed she could only be killed during a solar eclipse. ^summary --- %% <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OinA6SnxmCc" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> %% ## Housekeeping - [x] What happens in the event of a TPK or just character death? Or Thither?? - [ ] Possible showdown with/against [[The Grim Accord]] ## Secrets and Clues - [x] Endelyn and Skabatha both have truesight, so they can see through Ora's shapechanges. - [x] Endelyn knows the future - she knows what will happen as soon as decisions have been made that might affect it. - [x] Endelyn has foreseen her death. She believes that the only way she can be killed is during a solar eclipse. - [ ] Endelyn can actually be killed by normal means, if people can get through her high defenses. It's her own belief in having foreseen her death that is her weakness. - [x] Endelyn knows the trap is a trap and that [[Bavlorna Blightstraw]] is dead. However, she'd like to capitalize on the situation to kill Skabatha. - [x] Not too long ago, Bavlorna tried to kill Skabatha. Zybilna interfered and saved Skabatha. However, Skabatha was ashamed to have her youngest sister come to her aid. After that incident, the three hags turned against Zybilna. But Skabatha never forgave Bavlorna. - [x] Endelyn is invisible to Skabatha. She came to Skabatha first thing in the morning. - [ ] Endelyn has moved her things and staff to the Palace of Heart's Desire, just as a precaution. - [x] [[The Grim Accord]] are waiting in the wings and may be persuaded to join a fight against the two hags if they think there is a chance that the party could win. - [x] [[Topplepot|Diesa Torunn]] is on the verge of recovering many of her abilities. - [ ] What Boris is missing, which is with Endelyn Moongrave, is memories of his past lives. ## [[Loot]] - On Skabatha - [ ] Clockwork watch of time stop, but a lesser version: you get two actions this turn, but it ends if you attack or adversely affect a creature other than yourself. The watch is stuck at a second before midnight, and it is not functional as a watch. - [ ] one-off use to scry on a single specific event and location or person in the past. It automatically works, but it can only be made to work once by someone other than Skabatha. - [ ] One-off use of _Feeblemind_, but a version that only lasts for 1 day. Flavour so that it's like the person is regressing to a younger age. - [ ] [Held heart feather token](obsidian://open?vault=dnd-vault&file=items%2FVault%20of%20Magic%2FFeather%20Token) - On Endelyn - [ ] [Kiss of the changebringer](obsidian://open?vault=dnd-vault&file=items%2FKiss%20of%20the%20Changebringer) (stolen from Skabatha) - [ ] gem with [[Aro]] in it (stolen from Skabatha) - [ ] Animated shield +2 - [ ] [Deathwalker's ward](obsidian://open?vault=dnd-vault&file=items%2FDeathwalker's%20Ward) --- ## Log It took 10 hours for the cat to get to Endelyn. Ora has Psychic Whispers up for 7 hours with the party. - Round 1 - Endelyn appears - Party becomes large again (previously reduced in size) - Round 2 - Skabatha: _Tell me, sister. You supposedly see everything else. Are you saying you didn't foresee THIS?_ - Endelyn: Polymorph on Boris. _A bit of fun every now and then doesn't hurt!_, _Did you bring the gem? That one will want it_ Diesa enters the fight. The Grim Accord, who have been watching The Slayers Five this whole time, enter the fight to try to take advantage of the two hags being there and already being somewhat weakened. Skabatha tries to Planar Shift out. Jamedi Counterspells her first one (and succeeded on a lucky shot). She tries it again, and this time, Endelyn Counterspells it, then Planar Shifts herself out as well. Before Skabatha died, she is able to tell the party that Endelyn believes she can only die during a solar eclipse.
