The Dwendalian Empire is the main governmental force in Marrow Valley, the central area of Wildemount. The name of the Dwendalian Empire comes from the ruling family that has been at its head for many generations. The current patriarch is [[King Bertrand Dwendal]], who is now 68 years old. ## What's happening in the Dwendalian Empire - [ ] Since his wife Duvia passed away ten years ago, King Bertrand Dwendal has become more and more reclusive. This has allowed [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/The Cerberus Assembly|The Cerberus Assembly]] to gain more and more control over the goings-on in the Marrow Valley. - [ ] [[Prince Eidys Dwendal]] and his wife, Suria, have been wanting to conceive for some time now, but have been unable to. There are rumors that Suria is doing everything she can to keep Eidys in the favor of his father, the King. - [ ] The Empire has sent a majority of its force to the border with Xhorhas, due to a military conflict occuring near the Ashkeeper Peaks, especially in the city of Bladegarden and Felderwin. - [ ] All Dwendalian citizens who are able and aged between 25 and 40 have been conscripted to fight in the war. Only the young, the elderly, the disabled, the magically endowed, or the rich have been allowed to stay in large cities like Rexxentrum and Zadash. - [ ] The [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/The Cerberus Assembly]] is beginning to more aggresively pursue magical experimentation as a way to keep up with Xhorhas's superior military magic. - [ ] The Dwendalian Empire is in the middle of talks with the [[Clovis Concord]], [[Greying Wildlands]], and [[Eiselcross]] to ally together against [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/Xhorhas]]. So far, [[Greying Wildlands]] and the dwarves and elves at [[ttrpgs/The Slayers FiveUthodurn]] have remained neutral. - [ ] Crime has increased in the Empire, along with the dwindling of military forces. [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/The Myriad]] grows in power and reach daily. - [ ] Magical items are hard to come by, and are usually requisitioned for the war effort. - [ ]
