This is a book discovered in [[The Firefly Cellar]].
Most of the superstitions it covers are no more than arbitrary rules:
- One can lose halfling luck by growing more than two inches a year.
- Prestidigitating too much makes you go blind.
- Items created on Da'leysen are cursed.
- Never give someone a single copper without first touching it to another copper belonging to the giver and then to a copper belonging to the receiver.
The real value in it is found in a small section about [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/The Feywild]]:
- Fey Crossings are usually marked by mushrooms, incandescent plants, or other seemingly ordinary things of nature that are arranged in a circle and have a fantastical glow.
- However, there are also fey crossings that move from place to place. Such fey crossings could take the form of a merchant's caravan, for example.
- The most distinguishable feature of a fey crossing is how it is tied to events like equinoxes, the time of day, the beginning of a season, or the stages of a moon.
- Fey magic can be trivial, quirky, but also powerful.
