## Background (what Immy knows):
Adora grew up in a tower in the countryside near Rexxentrum, in the Dwendalian Empire. She mostly lived alone, with only her father and one advisor to keep her company. Her father told her he was the king of a grand kingdom and that she was a princess. He showered her with gifts, and she grew up accustomed to wealth. She was told her mother had died of childbirth. Any attempts she made to learn more about the outside world were thwarted, with her father telling her she had more important things to learn. He told her she could not leave the tower because there were many assassins outside its walls, ready to steal her away.
In some ways, her education was limited. She was only taught basic schooling. However, there were other things her father taught her extensively. He taught her how to become deadly with knives, how to understand arcane runes, and how to use her abilities to appear more like those around her. She would change her eye colour, eyes, and skin to appear more like her father. Her father told her she got those shapechanging abilities from her mother, and that her mother had hidden them as well. It was for Ora's own protection, he said.
Her father also gave her special lessons along with a trusted advisor of his, but Ora's memory of the content of these lessons is hazy, as is the identity of the advisor. When she thinks about these lessons, all she is left with is the faint tingling up her arms, where there are diamond-shaped scars. She doesn't know how she got them.
She started to become suspicious when she came of age, and her changeling abilities increased from changing her features to being able to take on other forms. She started to feel like her father was lying to her. She chose to use her new shape shifting abilities to disguise herself as her father's advisor to find out the truth.
What she found was that her father wasn't a king at all, and neither was she a princess. She had been stolen from a small village, right out of her mother's arms. The real reason her father never let her leave the tower was that he feared there would be retaliation from the village. Ora had no idea why a small village would retaliate or how they would retaliate, but she fled that night, leaving behind the man she knew as her father: Trent Ikithon, Archmage of the Cerberus Assembly.
She continuously disguises herself to stop Trent from finding her. She carries a golden amulet that protects her against anyone's magical scrying - including her father's. She wishes to hide from her father and to one day find out who her mother was.
- Why Immy is on the [[The Wavechaser]] in [[003_20201129 The Wavechaser]]
- She got out of the [[Dwendalian Empire]] as soon as she could, fleeing from her father's influence in the [[Menagerie Coast]]. She heard rumors of a changeling in [[Palma Flora]], a female tabaxi, and was on the island to try to find it when the island began to sink. She fled to the Wavechaser as soon as the sahuagin appeared.
- She will probably initially think it's [[Captain Three Earrings]], but if she asks the crew for another female tabaxi, they will say that there was another female tabaxi that had been with them, [[Aro]]-- who is actually one of [[ttrpgs/The Slayers FivePort Damali/Aro]]'s masks. They'll tell Ora that they just dropped Lin off at [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/Port Damali]].
## Secrets Immy doesn't know
Her mother is [[Jenna Iresor]], one of the eight Archmages of the [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/The Cerberus Assembly]]. Her father __is__ [[Trent Ikithon]], even though he will dance around that because he won't admit he actually fell in love with someone. Jenna is a doppelganger pretending to be a human to get close to Trent. She has been waiting for a chance to kill him for years, because he took Ora away from her. The only greater quest she has would be to reunite with Ora (whom she doesn't know is alive, because Trent told her she'd died.)
She has a twin, who is also a changeling: [[ttrpgs/The Slayers FivePort Damali/Aro]], passing as a (currently, but they are very gender-fluid as a changeling) female tiefling wizard [[The Golden Grin]].
- [[Silva]] told her in [[009_20210110 Asari's Mother]] that she had a twin, but that both she and the twin had been taken away by her father at birth.
Her father's matronly servant and trusted advisor is the older, but still spry ballerina [[Jannika Jäger]], a member of the [[The Golden Grin]] in [[ttrpgs/The Slayers FivePort Zoon]]. The song she used to sing to Ora is the [[Grinning Fool]].
Her mother, [[Jenna Iresor]], is a double agent of [[The Lens]] for the [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/Kryn Dynasty]], and is so undercover that only [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/Bright Queen Leylas Kryn]] and [[Dusk Captain Quana Kryn]] know of her existence. She is also the human woman that [[Boris]] saved from his tribemate [[Hardrak]].
Her village is [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/Palebank Village]]. [[Trent Ikithon]] was there looking for clues to find [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/Molaesmyr]] and uncover artifacts when he chanced upon her changeling mother, [[Jenna Iresor]]. Ora's [[Soulknife]] manifested at birth, and she ripped her mother open. Her father, seeing a chance to win a prized pupil, took her away and left her mother for dead. Unbeknownst to him, Jenna survived, with the help of [[Silva]], and schemed to exact her vengeance on [[Trent Ikithon]].
## [[Feats for Ora]]
## Training
- 3 weeks out of 6 weeks of carpenter/bosun/captain training from [[Idel]].
## [[The Lost Mayflower]]
### Stuff she learns each day
- Why physical exercise is important
- Why mental exercise is important
- Meditation is the key to everything so that discipline is improved. Before you learn to move, you must learn to be still. And then to be intentional about movement and about decision. Getting clarity about what is essential TO YOU, so that when you have to make a decision, you don't question yourself. Essentialism.
- Book started with YOUR body, but now you're learning about how to read other bodies. How to separate emotions when sizing up an opponent.
- Using your environment: use what you're given. Spend time watching the rhythm of things. The patterns in footsteps. The actions that other bystanders are taking. Sounds, smells. Sights. All can be used to your advantage if you remember you're not fighting in a vacuum.
- Quickness of action is a double-edged sword. You give up time in the future to react faster in the present. The other edge is consequences. The book cautions you that sometimes, quickness is not the best course-- not when you are unwilling to deal with the consequences.
## Ora's babies

## My Plans for Ora
- Eventually give her _sending_ as an extension of psionic ability. Maybe if she joins the Cobalt Soul?
- _Dancing blade_: A way to give her a second attack per action, by throwing a blade up in the air (maybe from her knuckles too) that can attack on its own or as a bonus action.
- Ability to throw both blades at the same time as a single action.
