The Town of the Forgotten is a small settlement on the eastern shore of [[Rumblecusp]], next to [[The Weirding Falls]]. ![[town_of_the_forgotten.png]] ## When the party returns - Market with some items for trade, watched over by [[Gare]]: - [ ] Ring of acid resistance - [ ] Horn of Silent Alarm (traded in by Lira in [[036_20210905 Exploring Dragonleaf Keep and Downtime in Rumblecusp]]) - [ ] [Periapt of Wound Closure](https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/periapt-of-wound-closure) - [ ] [[Chelrey Gary]] and [[Gare]] are hitting it off very well. ## Population The residents of the Town of the Forgotten are different races, but they're all paladins of [[ttrpgs/The Slayers Five/Melora]]. Paladins are immune to disease, so they were able to resist [[Mother Krangor]]'s mist of forgetfulness. They watched their shipmates and friends succumb to it, and eventually, a few of them were able to band together and find a space on this island that they could live peacefully in. Everyone in the town knows it's Melora's touch that saves them. There were intially four of them that escaped Vo together. Three of them made it (one died in a fight against displacer beasts). Since then, 18 others have joined, either by finding their way from Vo, or by birth. ```dataview table type as "Type", description as "Description" from "ttrpgs/The Slayers Five" WHERE type = "NPC" or type = "faction" and contains(location,"Town of the Forgotten") ``` ### How they've adapted to life on Rumblecusp - They use [[Carbuncles]] as pets and mounts, to get to other parts of the island without the "Vodians" noticing. - To discourage Vodians and kobolds from snooping, they use _marine layer_ to blind outsiders and _major illusion_ to create the image of a T-rex crashing through the forest, or the image of an empty, barren wasteland where the town is. - They've placed large stones strategically on the strip of land connecting them to the rest of the mainland, and left thick trees along the to the west, to hide their presence. A group called The Watchers keeps an eye out for intruders at all times. - They use the spell _Create food and water_ to keep the town fed, and they've also begun to grow their own crops. - They've cleaned up most of the debris from crashing ships (thanks to [[Thunder]]) on their side of the island, reusing the wood for their houses. ## Completed - [x] [Nimble hand wraps](https://www.dndbeyond.com/my-creations?filter-name=nimble&filter-status=1&filter-status=2&filter-type=) taken in [[036_20210905 Exploring Dragonleaf Keep and Downtime in Rumblecusp]] - [x] Arund will tell them that everyone in the Town want to stay, except for old [[Saoki]].
