## Session Summary
> [!tldr] [[002_20220326 Blessing from the Upturned Palms]]
> We continued from the altar of Gozreth and came across a room with a cage that four kobolds were attempting to open. Before we could worry about our chances of survival, Karth revealed himself to be some sort of shark creature, transforming his head into that of a shark for the duration of the battle. We killed the kobolds easily. I summoned Geraldine, my Unseen Servant, inside the cage, and found a bunch of magical items, including a crossbow that would not fit through the bars of the cage. At this point, Babolt remembered that he had thieves' tools, and opened the locked door, allowing the crossbow to fit through the bars and right into Skram's waiting hands.
>
> We entered a hallway, and Bolt spotted a trap and purposely set it off, causing a bunch of rocks to fall on the heads of those that hadn't moved out of the hallway (everyone but me). We continued and found a different altar, with a statue of a man in front of it. The statue came to life and said that he would give us his blessing if we could determine which among the nine coins in front of him was a deception. We eventually guessed right (luckily he allowed us to have two tries), and we got to keep eight of the coins!
>
> We came across a room that had a chest emblazoned with a key as well as a machine of some sort. I looted the chest and found that it also contained a lever. When Bolt pulled on it, it stopped a trap in the next room.
>
> We peaked into the next room and saw a large hall with a dais where there should have been a throne, but was empty instead. The room also contained three more kobold warriors, as well as a different kobold that seemed to be setting traps. ^summary

## Log
Day 1 9 am
Bolt and Karsh have -1 status penalty to d20 rolls (checks and DC). Skram can call upon the ocean's might to use a reaction when hit by a critical hit and turn it into a normal hit.
Scum over everything. Squid tentacles reaching towards the altar. The squid looks like it's been there for years as well. It's just the silver bowl that doesn't look like that.
We go south. [[Otari Fishery#The Imprisoned Barrels]]
There are cells 4 lizardfolk creatures the size of human children. They're trying to pry open the cell doors.
![[golarion-cellar-kobold-cages.png]]
- 27 Skram
- 22 Lizardfolk
- 17 Bolt
- 13 Karsh
- 7 Quen
These are [[Kobolds]]! They like to live in darkness. They are engineers and artificers of traps. They are normally selfish and live in communal collectives. They can easily be swayed by strong leaders. They're not really evil.
You can use _Recall Knowledge_ to learn not just lore but also some stats.
They use slings and spears. AC 16.
[[Karsh]]'s teeth sharpen, his face elongates, his eyes move to either side of his head. He starts to drool (he can't close his mouth with all his teeth).
Inside the cell is a pile of old crates and barrels that are in good condition.
I summon [[Geraldine]] inside the cage to get stuff. I get a hero point!
Hero point:
- Advantage
- When you're dying, use it to go back to 1 HP. Automatically stabilized.
Long-spoiled food, stained cloth, and one pile of treasure! Coins worth 200 sp, gold ring worth 5 gp, and a beautiful +1 crossbow
Karsh has changed back. He was a shark! Goddess of the storm blessed him.
Bolt uses thieves' tools to open the door to the cage.
We enter the door to the east. [[Otari Fishery#The Rockslide Hallway]]. The floor is tiled with stone tiles. There's something strange about the square closest to the northern door, like the floor tiles are a bit loose. Bolt triggers the trap, and it lets loose a bunch of rocks on anyone in the hallway!
We go further into the room to the east.
[[Otari Fishery#The Altar of the Upturned Blessing]]
![[golarion-otari-upturned-palms.png]]
![[golarion-upturned-palms-02.png]]
There is a statue of a man with his palms up, in front of a pile of 9 gold coins. "In my hands I judge the value of all life, raising up which one is greater. One of these coins is a deception. Find it in two judgments and receive my blessing."
I _Detect Magic_. The statue, the statue's hands, and the coins.
4 coins and 4 coins
Left hand is higher than right hand.
2 coins of the 4 lighter coins, 1 in each hand
Right hand is lower.
We guess the correct one (3-3-3 and 1-1-1). 8 gp!
There are 2 doors:
- Opposite door we came on
- 1 door on the right
![[golarion-contraption-room.png]]
We enter the next room.
[[Otari Fishery#The Contraption Room]]
There is a chest emblazoned with a key. There is a machine/contraption of some sort. One end of it goes into the floor. The room is dark, but has tiny shafts of light on the northern side - there are like tiny holes. Through the tiny holes, we see kobolds talking.
In the treasure: 214 cp, 22 sp, 3 gp, small glass box with a single emerald (20 gp), scroll (parchment), lever protruding from the back of a chest. Bolt pulls it. It disables a trap in the next room.
[[Otari Fishery#The Throne of the Kobolds]]
The door opens with a creak. Massive chamber, like audience hall. Stairs lead up to where a throne must have been. Pillars, decorative banners, decorative tile pattern. Grime coats the floor.
We see three more of the kobold warriors stationed before the stairs, and a new kobold (one we haven't seen) setting traps on the floor. They take positions as we enter, hiding behind the columns as they prepare to fight us.
