# [[005_20220521 Order of the Killer Eggshell Invaders]] ## Session Summary > [!tldr] [[005_20220521 Order of the Killer Eggshell Invaders]] > In the room with the four elemental orbs, we got almost immediately attacked by the fire orb, which seeemed to consist of a Cinder Rat, a small creature from the Fire Plane. It injured Bolt quite badly, leaving him fighting for his life while Skram attempted to heal him and Karsh and I were left with controlling and damaging the Cinder Rat. Through Skram's brief conversation with the Cinder Rat before we killed it, we discovered it was just trying to get home, which made us feel a little bad. We christened ourselves the The Undead Unkillers (OKEI). > > I got the blessing of the wind by touching the air orb, and after he was stabilized, Bolt got the blessing of the earth by touching the earth orb. Bolstered by some healing, we climbed up the ledge of the narrow, wet passageway to the left, and found ourselves in a large cavern with lots of limestones, stalactites, and stalagmites. We also saw Xulgath, or troglodytes, speaking to each other quietly. We took the right tunnel. There are pulsing orbs in three corners. Southwest: brown earth and stone. Northwest is filled with glass. The most interesting orb holds a roaring flame and is opposite where we came in. The orb is shattered and water is flowing down, creating the river. Initiative - 26 Fire thing - 25 Skram - 18 Bolt - 15 Quen - 9 Karsh - Round 1 - Fire thing - There's a small ball or object inside the smoke coming towards us. - It attacks Bolt! It apparently has teeth, but the teeth burn hot. - Skram - Figures out this is a Cinder Elemental. It is pure elemental fire and smoke. - Bolt - Is pretty sure this is a Cinder Rat from the Plane of Fire. He thinks we CAN attack it - Me - See if we can fix the water orb - 2: Telekinetic Projectile (water) - 1: Stride to touch the air orb. A voice in the wind says "Call upon the wind to gain my blessing and soar through the sky." Spend an action once in the next 24 hours to fly up to 40 feet. You must land on something solid after that. - Karsh - Successfully grapples it! - Round 2 - Cinder Rat - Escapes Karsh's grapple - Strides towards me. I am now sickened (everything in its melee gains Sickened 1) - Me - 1: Inspire Courage - 2: Telekinetic Projectile (Its AC is 18). 6 damage. - It takes full Bludgeoning damage - Karsh - Tried to attack twice but didn't make it. - Round 3 - Rat - Tried to attack me but it didn't work. - Skram - Demoralizes the Cinder Rat - Me - 1: Shield - 2: Telekinetic Projectile. 7 damage - Karsh - Round 4 - Me - 1: Shield - 2: TP. 6 damage - Karsh: Attacks - Round 5 - Me - 1: Shield - 2: TP. 10 damage. It's bloodied - Karsh: - 14 damage. It's almost dead. - Hits again and kills it. Combat over! Karsh carries Bolt away. The Undead Unkillers. We go back to the room of the elements. Bolt touches the earth orb and hears a voice in his head: "Call upon the earth to gain its strength." Spend an action to call upon the earth. Your melee strikes do 2 extra damage for one turn. We climb up the ledge to the left. [[Otari Fishery#Troglodyte Cave]] - Warm, humid air with a powerful stench. - Natural cavern. - Limestones, stalactites, stalagmites make it hard to see all of the room - There's something in the floor between three Xulgath (known to surface dwellers as [[Troglodytes]]). - They live in familial communities - They occasionally raid surface settlements, usually at the behest of cruel, bloodthirsty leaders. - They have bony protrusions down their spine.
