The ghouls eventually fled into the double doors, yelling to "Lady Nhakazarin" that they were under attack. > > We entered a large chamber that looked like a place of worship or ritual and engaged in battle with Nhakazarin herself, who told us that we could submit to their bite and awaken the Canker... or die. > > We chose death. Well, not really, but close enough! Just when we thought we were going to die, we had an unexpected ally... a "gnelf" (half gnome, half elf) who said his name was Gunther helped us out by attacking Nakazarin. With his help, we killed all the ghouls off. > > After the battle, we investigated the large statue that was in the room. He's a gnelf (gnome + elf). Underneath the statue is a statue of a forgotten god that was supposed to bring salvation to the world. But instead, he died. He raised this entire island where we are ([[Starstone Isle]]) but was supposed to do other things, except he died. This god's name is [[Aroden]]. A very long time ago, he had another name. His name was [[Tyr]]. Nhakazarin was once a person a few hundred years ago, before she became a ghoul. One of the advisers of an infamous mage and loyal adviser and librarian. She seems to be devoted to the statue. Ash says Tyr is an ancient god of his time. Long dead. Doesn't matter anymore. Bond finds necklaces in false bottoms of the display cases. 1 big fiery orb and 2 smaller orbs in one necklace. Ash thinks he was alive when Tyr died. He was in his service. He feels indebted to him but he's not sure why.
