## Log
7 pm.
We follow the clerics, who seem like they've gotten into a fight.
[[Chaf]] and [[Jarro]] are the two clerics of [[Pharasma]]. Chaf is the more imperious one. Jarro is shorter, chubbier, and less sure of himself.
Karsh is being attacked!
![[1694252295353 - Combat]]
The party engaged in a fierce battle against a horde of zombies while trying to protect Karsh from the clerics of Pharasma. Despite their efforts, Karsh was ultimately killed during the combat, but this death would lead to his miraculous rebirth as a Duskwalker through divine intervention.
Gloam says a prayer for [[Karsh]] to [[Pharasma]]. He pleads with the gods to take pity on Karsh because Gloam knows Karsh has been fighting undead.
We realise that *Reincarnate* only works if the target is not destroyed... and [[Vayle]] knows that undead creatures become destroyed when they die.
[[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] appeals to [[Aroden|Tyr]] and says that he ows Ash a life. He asks that Karsh be spared.
A black bird with a mask appears next to [[Gloam]] and Karsh. Another appears, and another, until a dozen are gathered around Karsh. Gloam seems to be strengthened by Karsh's spirit. The birds form a spiral and the topmost birds disappear.
Gloam says they found a foe worth vanquishing, according to [[Dread]]. He was formidable. He captured both Dread and [[Gears|Gears]]. Gloam doesn't know where he/they are. He barely escaped. We know it's [[Volluk Azrinae]].
[[Shawanti|Bee]] is unaccounted for. They don't know where she is.
Suddenly a naked teenage boy appears. He doesn't know who he is, but he has the gray, pale skin that Gloam does. Gloam snaps out of his trance and says, "You have been blessed like me." The birds were [[psychopomps]], and they are the creatures that have always brought souls to the boneyard where they are judged by Pharasma. They are connected to death. The birds that we saw were [[asoi]] who are heralds between death and life. They're there when a soul crosses over or back. This teenager is a [[Duskwalkers|Duskwalker]]. Two great psychopomps in history made a deal: there are some souls worth saving because their lives ended prematurely. They can't just allow endless numbers of souls to be Duskwalkers. Karsh is now a Duskwalker, sworn to protect the distinction between death and life. They can never become undead again.
He's taken Karsh's name again.
- Vayle: You like new clothes.
- Bond: You have a purpose.
- Zuhri: You like the freedom of the sea.
- Ash: You are a champion of good. (nat 20)
- Gloam: You are blessed by Pharasma.
