(Natural 20). - Someone walked here, disturbing the dust-- and it wasn't the Void Glutton because it was somewhat incorporeal - It was a person, a humanoid, wearing boots with dirty from the swamp. We open the door to the southwest. There's an image of [[Belcorra]] dining elegantly on what looks disturbingly like a human arm. - robed, dead, human-sized body on the floor. [[Grumblebum]] rolls it over on its back. It's a human male with a frozen expression of terror on its face. It has gashes over its clothes, cloak. It died from the gashes. From the slash mark, it's from the wisp (seven gashes at once). It fed on this person as it went here. It's wearing a particular brand that I recognise as one of the people who tortured me and put an arcane mark on me. Chains in the shape of a star on the side of their neck. [[Vayle]] recognises the person because they remember that they were once part of this cult. - 20 sp - Note: *Brother, we have found where the star points. Visit the lighthouse in Otari. Signed, M.* - Dagger ![[uu-voidseekers.png]] This cult is [[The Voidseekers]]. They believe that eventually, nothingness will come to everyone anyway, so they try to seek out creatures of darkness. They go to areas where something Occult is happening. They seek out nothingness and the void. They believe they're going to die anyway. They don't specifically mention [[Nhimbaloth]]. [[Cult of the Canker]] worshipped Belcorra, who worshipped Nhimbaloth. Vayle says they have friends who were connected to Voidseekers and that they were led to their deaths. It's been dead for about four days. We go to the next room on the northeast. - Bedroom - Something shimmering flares to life and an elven face smiles in a sinister way. She has blood on her lips and hands. And then she disappears. It's like a portal. She is Belcorra. I think that this is something from right now. This is not one of the visions from the past. Everyone but [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]] was inside. We open the octagonal chamber in the centre. - bodies of three creatures mounted on wall in the webbing. They've been there for centuries and the web has kept them from decomposing. - lavender-skinned elf - legless body of a large, spider-like humanoid (spider body, humanoid torso) - Vial - hideous humanoid with transparent flesh - Probably means it's a creature that stays away from the sun - so something underground. - There's a case on its back with a clasp. Inside is a longbow that is untouched by the years. This case is waterproof. - They're held in place by ectoplasmic webs. - webbing, slime We go back to the pavilion. - encrusted by a dark, pale fungus - two stone bridges: one from the north, one from the east. - scattered remains of mutated zombies, killed by a huge wolf in the middle, growling at us. About 6 feet tall at the shoulder. It's alone. Grumblebum approaches the wolf and sees its injuries (from zombies and ghouls). There are also older injuries: bite marks from other wolves that have mostly healed over. It has fought the other wolves and is dominant. Might even be the alpha. But it's alone, which is weird. Grumblebum is allowed to pass the pavilion by the wolf, but the rest of us have to go the long way around to head south. We see a tower of offal where Ash has been previously. It stinks! - Slight moaning that grows stronger as we go to the south. - There's a rocky island. - Human skeleton clutching a rapier lying in the centre of the island. - Surrounding the skeleton are three wisps circling the skeleton. - Can't tell where the moaning is coming from. ![[1697887154129 - Combat]] The party engaged three wisps circling the skeleton. Bond taunted one wisp while Ash and Grumblebum quickly dispatched two of the wisps. During the battle, Otari Ilvashti's ghost emerged from his skeleton, thanking the party for freeing him from the wisps that had been tormenting him for years. [[Otari Ilvashti]] is the skeleton that we're looking at. [[Esefna Menhemes|Esefna]] was his love. They were going to be married a few days after he died. He says they brought down Belcorra and destroyed her, but as her final action, she threw a fireball at them. He evaded it but not enough. She was assembling lenses to attack [[Absalom]], and they had to try and stop her. He heard that [[Volluk Azrinae]] was enamoured with Belcorra. [[Esefna Menhemes|Osefna]] was the youngest of the group. The three of them had already banded together in Absalom, and Osefna, "The Huntress", joined and became the leader of the group. [[Zarmavdian]] is a dwarven name. It means "The Watcher". He was the tactician of the group. He transported, buffed, researched enemies. Did all the thinking. [[Vol Rajani]] and Osefna did the hitting. Otari told everyone to be good.
