They return to Wrin's Wonders to return a scroll and learn about upcoming significant events. After a long rest, they explore underwater tunnels from the lake, finding Carman Rajani sleeping by an underground river. Carman reveals he threw the real sword onto Dot's roof and will only join them as a sellsword if they convince Dot to come. Meanwhile, Vayle and Bond fight wolves that transform into humanoids after being killed. ^summary %% ## Video [Video]() %% --- ## Recap ![[053_20231028 Chasing Carman Rajani#^summary]] --- ## Log - Pathfinder Remaster has come out and there are some changes for us. - Now we have *shield runes*. Previously you had either a blocking shield or one that could have runes. Now you have both. - *Refocusing* recovers all points in ten minutes instead of just one. - *Crafting*: Used to base of 4 days. Now 2 days and if you have the formula, it's 1 day. And if it's common, you don't even need the formula - it's still just 1 day. - *Disarm*: Used to be the weakest because you could only do it on a critical hit and it fixed itself automatically. Now it takes an action to get the weapon back. - *Wounded and dying:* Anytime your dying value would increase, you would increase it by the amount of your wounded value. However Kuya's going to house rule it so that it's the same way that we've been doing it. - *Critical specialization with weapons:* Now you have saves against some certain weapons. - *Spellcasting components:* Removed VSM. It's just a manipulate action. - *Recall knowledge:* It's simpler. We ask GM a question and they tell us what check and DC that would require. - *No alignments.* Will eventually affect spells that are alignment-based. - *No more edicts and anathema*. It's about 2 pm. Day 60. We go back to the lake. We think there's a tunnel leading from the lake and out of it. Several of them, actually. [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] can find only one that is large enough for a humanoid to pass through. We're diving into the tunnel. [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] swims 50 feet per round (2 actions). [[Zuhri]] swims 20 per round (2 actions). After 8 rounds we exit into air. We hear an underground current and a louder river. Sounds like a waterfall. 10 feet of land by the river, and [[Carman Rajani|Carman]] is sleeping. Sword is on his back. We wake up [[Carman Rajani|Carman]]. [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] notices that the scabbard is from the real sword but the sword isn't real. [[Zuhri]] notices that Carman is set in his ways and it's a new low for him. He's fought in bars, been thrown in jail, and been injured by foreigners in Otari but he knows he's gone too far this time. He looks quite desperate. He's lost everything and has nothing to lose. [[Zuhri]] talks to Carman and finds out this information: - He actually threw the sword onto [[Dot Rajani|Dot]]'s roof. He wants her to have it, even if she won't have anything to do with him. - He thinks the sword is his (or his family's) to keep or give away and didn't like when the mayor gave it to us. - He will come with us to Absalom as a sellsword, but only if we get Dot to come with us. - He believes that we don't want to capture him and that we really do just want to use the item to restore the Roseguard or help them move on with the items. Meanwhile, [[Vayle]] (who started to swim with us but couldn't swim far enough) and [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]] are dealing with some wolves that are stalking them. 60 ft. from shore Fight ensues! We kill all the wolves, but they turn into humanoids. :( Long rest in town.
