Grumble tracks the black-furred werewolf. We're on the offensive. Zuhri and Ash attack and kill a black-furred werewolf. (We'll hear later that [[Varlon]] hid the kids individually and [[Malleus]] was adamant in protecting them.) #### Round 7 - Werewolves: create a large rumble to cause panic and chaos. - Zuhri goes to east and rallies those there against the wolves since that's the one that lost Elise. - Elise is being tended by a green-scaled kobold that we hadn't noticed in the village. Elise isn't well, but is alive. Elise sees me and says she doesn't need my help. - Grumble sends reserve troops north and west. 50 west. Tracks Alpha. - Bond: Fails in trying to use Diplomacy on the villagers. - Ash: Prevents us from being overrun with a critical success to bolster defenses in the north. Saesella was turned into a werewolf but had resisted the transformation too. #### Round 8 We're at 5 successes so far. - Werewolves: They seek the darkest spots in the battlefield and take advantage of the darkness to launch an attack. - Bond uses his darkvision to help villagers see the werewolves and tell them where that is. - Grumble is defending. - Zuhri helped the west and Saesella with light. - Ash failed to perceive the Alpha. We're at 6 successes now. We have repelled the attack! The Alpha is level 9. The black-furred werewolf is level 6. The other werewolves are Level 3. #### Debriefing - Accounting of the dead. - The villagers offer symbolic offerings to the Apometi. - They announce the accomplishments of the people-- usually the Daskalos are the ones that tell the stories of their mentees, or the victas beneath them if the daskalos died. - They also talk about us! Saesella, [[Marmanak]], Elise, and [[Gazzo]] the green-skinned kobold are more listened to than others. They tell the story of what they saw of us. - Vayle: They steadied soldiers' fears, risked their life to divert attention of werewolves sneaking inside. - Bond: They almost attacked him because he was a werewolf, but he used his guns against the werewolves and also helped the werewolves see. - This causes some to doubt whether or not they should have been killing those that were bitten. - Zuhri: I was practical. The 30 people I've been protecting at the risk of my own life also speak on my behalf. - Ash: Physically strong. Calming presence during chaotic moments. - Grumble: They'd never thought to stay in the centre as a communication hub. They'd never thought that strategically before. Saesella offers to give us the Apometi's blessing. We have proven ourselves worthy of this village. She asks the villagers for objections. - [[Holes]] and [[Arnoald]] actually stand up for us even though Grumble was mean to them. They respect him, and respect Bond too. - Elise says that perhaps I (Zuhri) should be given more leeway. She speaks for me. She speaks against Vayle because they came in a disguise, deceptively. What does it entail? - We entail the apometi inside us. It makes us strong against poisons. - We turn into aponachar when we die. - We get spider veins. - We would be daskalos and be accompanied by victa. - We have to return once a month to the apometi. - Vayle says yes. - Zuhri accepts right away. I ask for Helly and Davios as victas. - Grumble says no. - Ash says no. His skills lie with me and he already functions somewhat as my daskalos. He doesn't want to split his attention. He thinks he's here for a purpose and isn't long for this world. He's probably here to save Jade.
