Ash has been worried about two things: - he remembers [[Jade Quarion]], a student of his that went missing. - he had a conversation with [[Lurem]] who said that he would lose his sanity if he wasn't tethered to me. [[Level 5]] is a gladiatorial arena. They've found different rooms related to the arena. The [[Skalathrax]] came from the blue light. The blue light is the power that summons them, probably from the gladiatorial arena. There was a mural that had [[The Order of the Ebon Hand]] coming to fight aberrations, led by a guy with a green mask and a hood. A monk. Ash realises this is [[Jade Quarion]], the reason that Ash was drawn here in the first place. They came upon a group where they killed someone and one became undead (that happens in this level). It became a [[Hollow Eye Harbinger]]. Servant of [[Nhimbaloth]]. It's a spellcaster. It tries to open up a hole in reality so that Nhimbaloth can gaze upon the world. Its goal is to do that enough that enough of Nhimbaloth's gaze can fall upon the area. It's already opened a few and each one deals a lot of pain. They got infected by a fungus but they don't know what it's going to do. Bolt will be able to talk to it someday though. They saw frescoes of scenes from the gladiatorial battles: people fighting a serpent woman (naga). There's also a pair of mated basilisks. [[Galiath Banderdash|Galiath]] can operate the teleportation circle and bring people to different parts of [[The Gauntlight]] for a fee.
