Since then: - We learned that [[Chafkem]] was turned into some sort of mummy, but nobody could identify him. - [[Jafaki]], the [[Sugathi]], is resistant to bludgeoning. - They talked to Chafkem - He was the one who oversaw the gladiator fights - Chafkem's hard line was experimenting on the morlocks (we think he was one originally). - Jafaki locked Chafkem in the room because he wanted to take over - The first thing Chafkem wanted was to reunite with the morlocks upstairs and take his revenge on Jafaki - Chafkem knows how to use the teleportation portal. - They were in the process of bringing Chafkem up and ran into [[Aiden Court]]. Vayle tried to heal Aiden Court but accidentally killed [[Siora Fallowglade]] in the process-- all the Sioras were around Aiden. - Siora had been trying to talk to Aiden Court but he didn't listen and was attacking him. Siora was winning. - Aiden Court now knows the identity of Vayle, because he saw that they were damaged by the same *Heal* spell that killed Siora. And he let them go... - Aides: [[Tartucci]] and [[Vorn]] - They went upstairs and talked to [[Augrael]]. - He had a nice pet. It wasn't shiny or sparking like the ones we fought. It's a homogenous green thing. - Chafkem was talking to the morlocks, delivering a speech about making morlocks great again. He didn't say why or how, though. - He contracted us to kill Jafaki in return for information about the level that he will tell us after Jafaki's death: - He knows where Siora's room is - He knows how to disable the blade trap - [[Volluk Azrinae]] has different doors on level 6 with different commands and gems to get through - Chafkem doesn't want to be undead. - Chafkem gave us information about how to beat Jafaki - field around him that confuses people - Fleshwarper, alchemist, caster - His legs can hold thinsg - He's resistant to bludgeoning damage, immune to mental and poison - Bond noticed that the moss on this level is growing unusually fast. Talking to the moss, he found out that the moss is growing because not a lot of things kill them anymore. We go down to Level 6! - 30 foot high, stained with blood - A wall of transparent stone separates the room from an observation gallery - There are chunks of scattered crystal, broken in a weird way. It wasn't smashed or slashed. It looks almost pulverized. - There's a sleeping creature here - Large creature - Toothy, eyeless, tubular head, three frilled ears - ![[uu-destrachan.png]] - This is a [[Destrachan]]. It sees and attacks with sound. It is a lone predator and an oligate carnivore. It's the sound that the we heard! It probably destroyed the crystals with the sound it produced. - It's higher level than us now (7) and would be a hard fight for all four of us. - It has a plus to all saves vs. sonic. No resistance or immunity though. - It can learn a language. It's smarter than a dog. - On the north end is a ladder that leads up to a stone that is still closed. How to cast spells from staves (spontaneous casters) - We start with a number of charges equal to your highest rank of spell (4 right now) - When we cast a spell, we expend one charge and one spell slot of ours equal or lower to the spell we're casting.
