## Log
We hear more [[Mutalisks|mutalisks]] somewhere nearby. To the east of us, we hear the faint hum of machinery and we smell something strange to everyone but [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]], who recognises them as alchemical ingredients. It's similar to what we smelled near the poltergeists on the level above us.
We take a short rest to heal up. Bond detects metal. [[Grumblebum|Grumble]] uses Locate to look for things of dwarven make and detects dwarven bodies to the north west.
There are traps on the east door. We want to go through the north door and Grumble asks Bond to check if the northern door is also trapped but he doesn't feel like anything is different. It's a normal, unlocked door.
[[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] opens the door. Beyond the odor is a wider hallway/area with:
- blue blood from the [[Thri-Kreen]] leading south towards where we are
- Signs of a fight with something that left no blood
- Further north, ten mutalisks are in a hexagonal room, busy with something and moving around. They're preoccupied with something on the east
- The room above is where the grate in the upper level led to.
We go closer to the Thri-Kreen blood. As Bond investigates it, one of the mutalisks comes closer, standing at the entrance of the hex room, and watches us. It seems like the mutalisks have figured out how to change the room to make it more rocky. I use thoughtsense and realise that these mutalisks are different... they definitely have thoughts and are more intelligent than they were before.
Nobody can identify the other blood.
Grumble opens the west door. It's like an operating room. There are dwarven bodies there. There are slabs above the room from where the bodies fall. There are bodies on the metal shelves all around the room on the north and western sides.
The dwarven bodies were recently dead. They don't look like they have any other wounds except the ones that were used to dissect them. This looks like a dissecting/processing room.
Grumble looks for clan daggers. As we're investigating the flesh, there are three [[Tomb Jelly|things that emerge like puddles of goo]], made of all the organic material.
![[1765708199998 - Combat]]
The party fought three Tomb Jellies that emerged from the organic material in the dissection room. Bond identified them as creatures that eat flesh while leaving bones intact, often used by ancient cultures to polish bones. The jellies attacked with splattering ooze that caused persistent void damage and could even heal undead allies. During the fight, one jelly managed to splash its substance on [[Vayle]], briefly granting her melee strikes the benefits of its curse. A mutalisk watched the combat from the doorway, and a [[Soldier Construct]] passed by heading south—a Level 8 humanoid cannon construct created by [[Volluk Azrinae]].
