## Session Summary
> [!tldr] [[107_20260118 The Seaweed Knight Rises]]
> While identifying looted magical items, the party was attacked by chained [[Living Landslide|Living Landslides]] and [[Sod Hound|Sod Hounds]]—earth elementals bound by ancient Arcane Bindings. [[Vayle]] charmed one of the Landslides, allowing the party to escape. As they fled, a terrifying [[Graveknight Armor]] emerged from the water—a Level 10 cursed armor that continuously creates undead wielders and cannot be killed until the armor itself is destroyed. The party witnessed it slaughter the elementals in two rounds with its acid-dripping ruinous greatsword and electrical cone attacks.
>
> The party retreated through the [[Mutalisks|Mutalisk]] hive, finding evidence of dead [[Fleshwarp|Fleshwarps]] corrupted by the [[Black Hollow Curse]]—a curse the party caused on this level—that had risen as undead before being destroyed by the Mutalisks. The Graveknight Armor is also affected by this curse, adding another layer of danger to an already formidable foe. ^summary

## Log
We spend 10 minutes to try to ascertain if any of the items we looted were magical. But as we're working on that, the walls seem to move and form some sort of bundle of boulders and rocks... They have chains on them that are attached to walls.
![[1768728841400 - Combat]]
The party fought Living Landslides and Sod Hounds—chained earth elementals that serve as guards in the Gauntlight. [[Zuhri]] identified the Living Landslide as an elemental that loves to travel and explore but is often bound as a guardian. [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]] learned the Sod Hounds are Level 3 creatures used as guards and sometimes pets, and that they are under Arcane Binding that can be undone through an out-of-combat ritual.
Vayle charms the Living Landslide and we all move out of there.
The sound of the water follows us as we move out. We see some sort of metal plated creature come out of the water, dragging a greatsword. It's a helmeted, rusted, seaweed-covered knight that starts walking towards us.
We see more of the Living Landslides and Sod Hounds in the next room rise to meet it. All the Landslides and the Hounds have chains, but the Seaweed Knight does not. It seems like the elementals might be rushing towards the Seaweed Knight the way the elementals near us rushed us too.
We lose sight of it all as we turn around the corner. We see that the chains keep the Sod Hounds from moving further than where they're at now.
We go through the east door, intending to go through the Mutalisk hive to the stairway with the windows.
- outside the next door are two dead Fleshwarps, clearly killed by the Mutalisks and now corrupted by the Black Hollow Curse (their skin is black).
- Those Fleshwarps had risen as undead: one was an incorporeal undead (now already destroyed by the Mutalisks), the other some kind of ghoul-like undead, also already dealt with by the Mutalisks.
The Seaweed Knight is actually just an armor that is cursed, according to Vayle. As long as the armor is alive, it will keep creating an undead creature to wield the armor. It can't be killed until the armor itself is destroyed. It's actually called Graveknight Armor. It's both a curse and a creature. Graveknights have butchered entire towns and castles because they can't be killed.
The Graveknight Armor killed the elementals in two rounds!
It's a weaponmaster of the greatsword it carries, called a ruinous weapon. It has a critical specification with its sword. It also drips acid and leaves acid sizzling on things that it hits. Level 10. It also had some sort of electrical cone attack that wiped out multiple elementals at once. It doesn't have weaknesses, unless you count being undead as a weakness. It is affected by the Black Hollow Curse, the curse that we caused on this level.
