This corruption intensifies with depth, causing permanent death for all creatures in the affected area. The party also discovered that [[The Voidseekers]] have performed multiple summoning rituals using different anchors, including [[Zarmavdian]] (who summoned [[Xal'garoth - The Apex Beast]]), [[Zuhri]] (though [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] responded instead), and possibly [[Ruskramigin|Rusk]]. > > After learning that destroying the Graveknight requires both a high-level remove curse spell AND physical destruction of the armor (with a 1-10 day respawn time), the party returned to the [[Mutalisks|Mutalisk]] room to attempt negotiation. The Graveknight, emanating an unholy aura that caused plants to shrink away, demanded they state their name and purpose—declaring outsiders forbidden on this level. [[Grumblebum|Grumble]] attempted to offer help removing the curse, but negotiations appear to be failing. ^summary %% ## Video [Video]() %% --- ## Recap ![[107_20260118 The Seaweed Knight Rises#^summary]] --- ## Log - The [[Graveknight Armor]] also just summoned a black horse that is fully armored and ready for battle. The horse sprouted wings. The Knight, on the horse, flies down its stairs. Three of us ([[Vayle]], [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]], and [[Grumblebum|Grumble]]) roll a nat 20 on a religion check. [[Nhimbaloth]] once gazed upon this place when [[Belcorra]] was going to unleash something, before [[The Roseguard]] stopped her. The attention of Nhimbaloth has corrupted this place, and it's worse the deeper you get. This also implies that the strength of Nhimbaloth's gaze comes from below. It's stronger from below. All living things that die from this effect here and below die permanently. It's as if all creatures have the *death* trait: when someone brings you to 0 hit points and you fail your death saving throw, then you die. [[The Voidseekers]] have tried to summon with multiple people: - [[Zarmavdian]]-- summoned [[Xal'garoth - The Apex Beast]] - [[Zuhri]]-- but Ash responded - [[Ruskramigin|Rusk]]? The respawn time is 1-10 days. It requires two things: - It needs a high-level remove curse spell or similar divine magic. - Then, the physical armor itself needs to be destroyed. Vayle has a way to remove a curse, but only for a willing creature. We all go back to the [[Mutalisks|Mutalisk]] room where we find it. The graveknight was kneeling and rises when we enter. It says, "Unintelligent creatures, stay in your pens." It strides forward, towards us. Neither the mutalisks nor the plants harm it. The plants seem to shirk away from the Graveknight. Its old voice says, "State your name and purpose in this dungeon." It sounds almost female, at least neutral. It has an unholy aura. It says outsiders are not permitted in this level. That's one fail for negotiation. Grumble asks if it would be willing to be helped to reverse the curse. He says that that is irrelevant to %% # Excalidraw Data ## Text Elements ## Drawing ```json {"type":"excalidraw","version":2,"source":"https://github.com/zsviczian/obsidian-excalidraw-plugin/releases/tag/2.0.25","elements":[],"appState":{"theme":"dark","gridSize":null,"viewBackgroundColor":"#ffffff"}} ``` %%
