Attention turns to Volluk Azrinae, an occult spellcaster whose binding and warding magic centers on his constructs and soul gems; reaching him means clearing a rubble-buried door and getting past the graveknight Sythra, who still guards him. > > Vayle recalls more of Sythra's past: she was a decorated commander in Absalom's First Guard — the Eagle Garrison that shielded Kortos from minotaurs, harpies, and centaurs — and a mother who knew Otari and its people well. During the Voidseeker infiltration, Vayle's crew invited Sythra along but she declined without explanation; the two were parallel operatives who parted on good terms.
