[[Grumblebum|Grumble]] cut a sample of the vine and left part of it with [[Worly Win]] at the [[Stone Ring Pond]] on the way into [[Otari]]; she said it looked like an ordinary plant except that it shouldn't be moving, and promised to ask the other druids. At [[The Rowdy Rockfish]], Vayle patched everyone up, and the three remaining members of [[Calamity's Ruin]] arrived to lay out the loot: 43 gp of [[Dreshkan]] parts, 71 gp from the [[Hollow Tar Zombie|Hollow Tar Zombies]] and a [[Hollow Root-Ridden]], and [[Echbos]]'s glaive, whip, and breastplate, which nobody wanted. All three were infected with the [[Black Hollow Curse]], which now carries a *divine* component, and Vayle healed them, earning a promise from [[Dread]] that the service would not be forgotten. The curse also settled into [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]]: Doomed 1 and *unholy*, but with void healing, void resistance 7, detect undead, and dreams of being watched from very far away by [[Nhimbaloth]]. > [[Vandy Banderdash]] hadn't been at the [[Dawnflower Library]] for days, and the party found her at home treating a line of patients. Vayle noticed a cut on her cheek heal by itself and her healing fall short: Vandy was at Stage 3 of the curse, Doomed 3, caught when she healed Grumble, and one more failed save would kill her and erase her from memory. Vayle cast *Cleanse Affliction* three times, the last with a rank 4 slot, and removed the curse. Vandy fell to her knees and prayed to [[Sarenraei|Sarenrae]]: "I can hear her again." We go to The Rowdy Rockfish and rest. Calamity's Ruin (three remaining members) are all hurt but have all the monster parts and loot. [[Shawanti|Bee]] said all of them are infected by the Black Hollow Curse. It's different. It has the *divine* tag. We get 43 g worth of monster parts from dreshkans: *aberration, construct, electricity, dex, strength, slashing, piercing, heavy armor, stealth, athletics* Echbos left a **glaive, a whip, and a breastplate**. Calamity’s Ruin didn’t take a share of those. We get 71g worth of monster parts from the Hollow Tar Zombies and one Hollow Root-Ridden (the plant one): *undead, evil, acid, strength, constitution, bludgeoning, medium armor, athletics, stealth, void, dex, poison* Effects of Black Hollow Curse: 1. Make a save every day. A failed daily save raises the stage by 1. 2. Whenever you attack, the curse spreads through your hostile actions, to both living and undead targets. 3. Unholy, doomed 1, -1 penalty to Will Saves vs. fear, death, and necromancy 4. Ash begins to dream of being observed from very far away. 5. Ash gains Void healing while vitality healing still works. 6. Void resistance equal to level (7) 7. Detect undead up to 60 feet. 8. +1 bonus to attack penalties for each level of doomed you have. We take all Echbos's stuff. We go to Vandy Banderdash's house. There's a short line of people who need to be cured. There are five people. Woman holds a feverish child. A wounded logger falls in line. A small cut on Vandy's cheek heals by itself. Vandy is infected with the Black Hollow Curse! Level 4. She's Doomed 3. Vayle heals her so that she's now Level 2. Then they cure her! She falls to her knees and prays to Sarenrae. "I can hear her again."
