# [[Belcorra]]
**Belcorra** is an evil sorceress who controlled [[The Gauntlight]] and commanded a network of powerful servants to carry out her dark plans. She was installing [[The Fulcrum Lenses]] - four magical lenses designed to focus some unknown power - when [[The Roseguard]] attacked and disrupted her work.
## Ultimate Objective
Belcorra's overarching goal was something "grander" than simple soul harvesting. While her servants worked on individual components, she was orchestrating a larger plan involving:
- **The Fulcrum Lenses**: Four magical lenses meant to focus an unknown power
- **Soul harvesting operations** on a massive scale
- **Army creation** through both undead soldiers and flesh warp golems
- **Complete control over The Gauntlight** as a supernatural fortress
## Associates and Their Objectives
### **[[Volluk Azrinae]]** - Chief Apprentice & Soul Harvester
- **Role**: Belcorra's apprentice and most important lieutenant
- **Race**: Drow lensmaker and artificer
- **Primary Objectives**:
- Make The Gauntlight "suck souls" through soul gem mechanisms
- Harvest souls for undead soldiers (preferred dwarves as "easy to turn into soldiers")
- Maintain all constructs and magical mechanisms in The Gauntlight
- Create soulbound devices, mechanical contraptions, and magical lenses
- **Status**: Deceased (killed by the party in session 043)
- **Notable**: Was "enamoured with Belcorra" and described as mean, though "she was even worse"
### **[[Jafaki]]** - Flesh Warp Creator & Army Builder
- **Role**: Belcorra's top servant alongside Volluk
- **Race**: [[Sugathi]] (worm-like creature)
- **Primary Objectives**:
- Create flesh warps to build a golem army
- Repurpose bodies after Volluk harvested their souls
- Control and manage Level 5 operations
- **Status**: Unknown (still active)
- **Notable**: Imprisoned [[Chafkem]] and forced his transformation, usurped control of Level 5
### **[[Siora Fallowglade]]** - Chief Assassin & Enforcer
- **Role**: Top elven assassin and Red Mantis Assassin
- **Race**: Elf (now incorporeal shadow)
- **Primary Objectives**:
- Eliminate threats to Belcorra's operations
- Maintain maps and intelligence of The Gauntlight levels
- Serve as Belcorra's personal enforcer
- **Status**: Controlled by Belcorra's ghost (seeks freedom from possession)
- **Notable**: Now pleads "Kill me fast or flee... If only there was a way to stop her control, I could be free"
### **[[Lurem]]** - Mage & Arena Overseer
- **Role**: Gnome mage who served Belcorra for centuries
- **Race**: Gnome (became ghost)
- **Primary Objectives**:
- Oversee gladiatorial arena operations on Level 5
- Provide magical support for Belcorra's experiments
- Maintain knowledge of The Gauntlight's operations
- **Status**: Deceased (killed by the party at his own request after going insane)
- **Notable**: Trapped for 1,000 years, went insane from isolation
### **[[Korlock]]** - Contracted Guardian
- **Role**: Fiend bound by contract to serve as jailer
- **Race**: [[Barbazu]] (devil/fiend)
- **Primary Objectives**:
- Prevent passage through his designated area "until she returned"
- Serve as powerful guardian and enforcer
- Maintain contractual obligations to Belcorra
- **Status**: Bound by contract (made deal with party to find his contract for freedom)
- **Notable**: Extremely powerful fiend locked in The Gauntlight's Contractual Prison
### **[[Chafkem]]** - Former Level Administrator
- **Role**: Administrator of Level 5 (before Jafaki's takeover)
- **Race**: Unknown (transformed into paper-wrapped mummy)
- **Primary Objectives**:
- Originally managed Level 5 operations
- Now seeks revenge against Jafaki for his imprisonment and transformation
- **Status**: Recently freed by the party, potential ally
- **Notable**: Imprisoned for centuries by Jafaki, forced into his current paper-wrapped state
## Organizational Structure
Belcorra's organization operated as a hierarchy with specialized divisions:
- **Leadership**: Belcorra as supreme commander
- **Top Lieutenants**: Volluk (soul operations) and Jafaki (flesh warp army)
- **Enforcement**: Siora (assassination and security)
- **Support**: Lurem (magical expertise), Chafkem (administration), Korlock (security)
- **Infrastructure**: Various constructs, soulbound mechanisms, and magical defenses
## Current Status
Following Belcorra's apparent death, her organization has largely collapsed, but her influence persists:
- She can still possess and control Siora from beyond death
- Her constructs and magical mechanisms remain active throughout The Gauntlight
- Several of her servants are still bound by contracts or curses
- The Fulcrum Lenses project remains incomplete but potentially dangerous
## Session 093 - Ghostly Possession Powers
- **Rising as a ghost**: [[Vayle]]'s research reveals Belcorra is rising as a ghost with possession abilities
- **Long-distance possession**: Can control [[Siora Fallowglade]] from a distance, suggesting either enhanced ghostly power or Siora's particular susceptibility
- **Forced combat**: Forces Siora to fight the party, declaring "I'm going to kill you now. Not because I want to, but because SHE does"
- **Enhanced power**: The long-distance possession indicates Belcorra is either more powerful than normal ghosts or Siora is more susceptible to her control
- **Caster abilities**: Retains her sorcerer abilities even in ghost form
## Session 097 - Mulvenboom Combat
During [[097_20251004 Mulvenboom]], a [[Mulventok]] bodyguard shouted "[[Belcorra]]" as its final words before exploding. This suggests that:
- Belcorra's influence still extends to her servants even after death
- The Mulventok may have been under some form of control or curse from Belcorra
- Her name is still invoked by her creatures, indicating ongoing loyalty or magical binding
## Session 077 - The Clone's Revelation
- **MAJOR REVELATION**: A clone of [[Zarmavdian]] revealed that Belcorra was installing [[The Fulcrum Lenses]] as the last part of [[The Gauntlight]]
- The four lenses were supposed to focus something, but [[The Roseguard]] did not know what they were meant to focus
- The Roseguard attacked while Belcorra was in the process of installing these lenses
- This confirms that The Fulcrum Lenses were a critical component of Belcorra's ultimate plan
