# [[Chafkem]]

Chafkem is the administrator of Level 4 of the [[Abomination Vaults]] who was trapped for centuries. He was found by the party on day 77 in a room that had been deliberately jammed shut with a sofa. Chafkem was wrapped in strips of paper like a mummy, with only bits of unhealthy skin peeking through the parchment.
He initially spoke in Aklo (Undercommon) which the party couldn't understand, but then switched to Nekril which [[Vayle]] could comprehend. Chafkem expressed both relief at being freed and frustration that his rescuers couldn't understand him initially. He explained that he had been stuck there for centuries because someone had locked him in, and he had been forced into his strange paper-wrapped state.
Chafkem believes that the person who trapped him was a [[Sugathi]] - specifically the worm that [[Jafaki]] is. He stands with an air of authority and was both thankful for his rescue and critical of his saviors' lack of understanding.
## Alliance with the Party (Session 096)
After being freed, Chafkem formed an alliance with the party and began rallying the morlocks with speeches about making them "great again." He contracted the party to kill [[Jafaki]] in exchange for crucial information about Level 6, including:
- The location of [[Siora Fallowglade]]'s room
- How to disable blade traps
- [[Volluk Azrinae]]'s door mechanisms with their required gems and commands
Chafkem provided detailed intelligence about Jafaki's abilities:
- **Confusion field** - has a field around him that confuses people
- **Fleshwarper, alchemist, caster** - multiple magical and alchemical abilities
- **Prehensile legs** - his legs can hold things
- **Damage resistances**: Resistant to bludgeoning damage, immune to mental effects and poison
Chafkem expressed that he doesn't want to remain undead and seeks to reclaim his former position as administrator.
