# [[Davios]] ![[Davios.svg]] A six-year-old boy from [[Arbor Felix]] — formerly "Davios Flowerfinder" — who inherited his dascalos's numa after werewolves killed them while searching for poisonous plants, and is now a Dascalos himself. Now also one of [[Zuhri]]'s victas. ## Identity & Body - **Six years old**, hunter-in-training of [[Arbor Felix]] - Skin marked by **spiderweb-thin fungal lines** (harmless; common to all villagers) - Old bite marks from wilderness animals — *not* the recent werewolf bite - Reverted to "Davios" after dropping the "Flowerfinder" epithet on becoming a Dascalos ## Numa & Magic - **Numa transfer**: Received his dascalos's life essence after their death to werewolves - **Wood/bark magic**: Grows wood and bark across his skin for protection; summons trees; grows wooden shields - **Splinter needles**: Creates splinter-like needles as weapons - Has **two new vectices** to inherit his numa if he dies ## The Werewolf Defence (Sessions 069–072) - Was **bitten by a werewolf** but chose to fight rather than turn - Stacked Fortitude buffs to resist transformation: Blessing of Defiance from [[Hearthmother Saesella]] (+4 Fort, shared with [[Vayle]] and [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]]) plus Juggernaut Mutagen from [[Marmanak]] (+2 Fort) - Faced the choice — turn werewolf with control, or stay Davios. **Chose to stay Davios** - Among the **30 of 100** convinced by [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] *not* to become [[Aponachar]]; Ash spoke to him about family meaning protection of the weak, and **swore to protect him** - Now serves alongside [[Helly]], [[Athena Forager]], [[Dionne Guardian]], [[Eleni Healer]], and [[Andreas Lorekeeper]] as one of [[Zuhri]]'s victas; participated in the Session 072 werewolf-tracking mission ## Relationships - [[Hearthmother Saesella]] — admires her magic - [[Hunter Elise|Elise]] — acknowledges her skill at shooting - The party — trusted them with the village's death customs and against the werewolf - Two unnamed vectices — his designated numa-heirs ## Cultural Significance Davios is a walking demonstration of [[Arbor Felix]]'s numa/dascalos/[[Aponachar]] cycle — a child carrying a dead mentor's power, refusing the easy out of werewolf transformation, refusing the easy out of becoming Aponachar.
