# [[Doriana Menhemes]] Doriana is the daughter of [[Mayor Oseph Menhemes]]. She's polite but seems to have trouble paying attention, and sometimes her eyes go white, her pupils roll up into her head, and she seems to see things that aren't there. ## Background & Role The young daughter of Otari's mayor. [[Skram]] tutored her in social graces, during which her attention would drift and her eyes would go white mid-lesson — early, unrecognised signs of what was happening to her. ## The Haunting For a long stretch Doriana was trapped in a coma-like state, gaunt and seemingly unfed despite being cared for, yet in good physical health. She called out to her father psychically — *"Help me. I can't wake up. Where are you?"* — over and over. Her condition steadily worsened, pushing the Mayor to the verge of breakdown even as the werewolf crisis gripped Otari. The cause was [[The Motley Man]], long dismissed as Doriana's imaginary friend but in truth a real entity from [[The Dreamlands]]. He had hidden a gem inside one of her toys, using it to haunt her every night and to attempt to cross into the waking world through her. Her white eyes, rolling pupils, and visions of things that weren't there were all symptoms of being pulled into The Dreamlands. ## Current Status **Resolved** as of session 083. [[Calamity's Ruin]] devised a ritual to enter [[The Dreamlands]], tracked down [[The Motley Man]], and destroyed him — ending the haunting. ## Unresolved Threads - Doriana's recovery and condition after the haunting ended have not been revisited by the party.
