# [[Dreshkan]]
![[Dreshkan.svg]]
## Description
Experimented-upon [[Morlock|morlocks]] with nails protruding from their flesh. They are grotesquely connected to each other by the nails in their flesh, creating a disturbing sight. These creatures are being reanimated by something in [[The Gauntlight]] dungeon level.
## Encounter History
**Session 130 (2026-09-27)**: Wiped out. The last two, merged and bloodied, spent their turns on [[Gears]] rather than the party, dealing 16 damage and leaving the gnoll near death, before [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] and [[Zuhri]] killed both off him. Consistent to the end: every Dreshkan in this fight died attacking [[Calamity's Ruin]] in defense of [[Echbos]], never the party ([[130_20260927 Rupture Cascade]]).
**Session 129 (2026-09-12)**: Attrition round. Of six, only two were left standing by the end of the session, merged together and both bloodied. [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] killed Dreshkan 2 with 25 sonic and Dreshkan 3 with a 48-sonic Witherwave crit; [[Shawanti|Bee]] killed Dreshkan 5 with a 52-damage double-crit flurry; [[Gears]] exploded three separate times, bloodying 4, 5, and 6 in turn. Two new behaviors were documented: they can **partner up and merge back into a single unit** for one action after being separated (the hooks in their flesh reattaching), and merged pairs can fire a **Needle Spray** in a 30-foot cone dealing piercing and electric damage on a reflex save. They also spent the session trying to protect [[Echbos]] even as he fled, and kept attacking [[Dread]] and Gears rather than the party ([[129_20260912 Leave This One to Me]]).
**Session 128 (2026-09-06)**: The Dreshkans were blasted and pushed 20 feet by the [[Quadruped Construct]]'s area attacks while trying to protect [[Echbos]]. [[Shawanti|Bee]] shot at the northern group as [[Calamity's Ruin]] arrived, and [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] killed one outright once the party turned on Echbos. Combat revealed a new ability: **they react when an attacker misses them** — [[Gears]] had to deflect the damage after whiffing twice with his glaive ([[128_20260906 Good Graces Spent]]).
**Session 127 (2026-08-30)**: A living army of Dreshkans, commanded by the Vordine [[Echbos]], was found under attack from a new black-powder quadruped construct while [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]], [[Zuhri]], and [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]] scouted the room ([[127_20260830 Good Graces]]). This is the same Dreshkan formation Echbos was training alongside [[Grothlut|Grothluts]] back in Session 112.
**Session 112 (2026-04-04)**: Dreshkans stood in unusual formation beside [[Grothlut|Grothluts]] while a Level 5 [[Vordine]] used them as training partners in [[General Urevian]]'s smoke-filled staging chamber ([[112_20260404 The Pentagram Shards]]).
**Session 082 (2025-02-09)**: The party found dead Dreshkans scattered across the floor of the chamber where they had faced the [[Death Shepherd]]. These appeared to be recent kills, with remains still fresh. The Dreshkans were thoroughly paralyzed, likely from being fed upon by ghouls, and one was still suffering from ghoul fever when the party encountered it.
**Session 080 (2024-12-15)**: The party discovered reanimated dreshkans in [[The Gauntlight]]. These creatures were twitching and connected to each other by nails protruding from their flesh. [[Grumblebum]] realized that something in this level of the dungeon was reanimating them. The party destroyed several dreshkans and encountered their corpses in a chamber with massive manacles and a circular pit.
**Session 073 (2024-08-04)**: Dreshkan emerged after the [[Alpha]] werewolf was defeated and its body dissolved into smoke. It appeared alongside the [[Shepherd]] and Spawn creatures, as well as various ghouls (Human Ghouls and Dwarf Ghouls). The entity's true nature and intentions remain unknown, but its appearance suggests it may be a higher-ranking entity within the werewolf hierarchy or connected to the temple's dark powers.
## Abilities and Characteristics
- **Emergence**: Appeared immediately after the Alpha's defeat
- **Accompanied by**: [[Shepherd]] and Spawn creatures
- **Combat Initiative**: Unknown (appeared after combat reset)
- **Unknown Powers**: Specific abilities and motivations remain to be discovered
## Session 132 - Zombified
In [[132_20261011 Everyone's Problem Is Now Zombies]], the surviving Dreshkans were transformed into zombies mid-fight: **2 became a Plant Zombie** and **4 became a Tar Zombie**. Both Plant Zombies carried the [[Black Hollow Curse]]. The zombies turned on [[Graveknight Armor|Sythra]], and a Tar Zombie's vomit hit a Plant Zombie for 34 bludgeoning damage and also hit Sythra.
## Session 133 - Parts Shared
Calamity's Ruin split the Dreshkan parts with the party: 43 gp each, with traits *aberration, construct, electricity, dex, strength, slashing, piercing, heavy armor, stealth, athletics*. The zombies they became were identified as [[Hollow Tar Zombie|Hollow Tar Zombies]] and [[Hollow Root-Ridden]] ([[133_20261018 Healer Heal Thyself]]).
