[[Graulgust]] was the former leader of the morlocks in The Gauntlight. He was killed by [[Calamity's Ruin]] along with his loyal bodyguards, marking a significant change in the morlock power structure.
## Background
Graulgust ruled over the morlocks in The Gauntlight and had established his lair in a reconstructed room filled with morlock furniture and dozens of bones. His leadership came to an end when [[Calamity's Ruin]] targeted him specifically, killing only him and his loyal bodyguards while sparing the other morlocks.
## Relationships
- **[[Petzel]]**: His loyal pet, a grotesque worm-like creature that was bigger than Graulgust himself. Petzel was described as having no feet, two small arms, wriggling appendages on its head, and being slimy all over. The creature was pleasant when licking but dangerous when biting, and it followed only Graulgust.
- **[[Augrael]]**: The undead creature was willing to help the party kill Graulgust, suggesting some level of animosity between them.
## Death and Aftermath
Graulgust's death led to a power vacuum that was filled by [[Dread]], who became the new leader of the remaining morlocks. Under Dread's leadership, the morlocks established new diplomatic arrangements, agreeing not to fight with either [[Calamity's Ruin]] or [[The Fogfen Mitflits]].
The party discovered Graulgust's body among four dead morlocks in his lair, confirming that [[Calamity's Ruin]] had successfully eliminated the former morlock leadership structure.
