# [[Hollow Root-Ridden]]
![[Hollow Root-Ridden.svg]]
## Description
A Hollow Root-Ridden is a zombie whose body is filled with roots and plant growth. Like the [[Hollow Tar Zombie]], it is one of the altered undead that rise from creatures killed under the [[Black Hollow Curse]] in [[The Gauntlight]], changed by [[Nhimbaloth]] as they come back. When spoken to, one said only: *"Brains."*
The growth inside them may be related to the vines spreading from the tree across [[Level 5]], though that hasn't been confirmed.
## Characteristics
- **Traits**: undead, evil
- **Curse carrier**: both that rose in Session 132 carried the Black Hollow Curse
- **Monster parts**: adds *void, poison, dex* to the Hollow Tar Zombie traits
## Encounter History
### Session 132
Two [[Dreshkan|Dreshkans]] rose as Plant Zombies and turned on [[Graveknight Armor|Sythra]]. One was hit for 34 bludgeoning damage by a Tar Zombie's vomit ([[132_20261011 Everyone's Problem Is Now Zombies]]).
### Session 133
[[Calamity's Ruin]] identified it as a Hollow Root-Ridden. One was killed and its parts shared with the party; **one escaped** and is still loose in The Gauntlight ([[133_20261018 Healer Heal Thyself]]).
