[[Irnakurse]] is a Level 9 aberration that was created from elves through cruel and humiliating Fleshwarp practices. It is currently located in the north room of the Gauntlight floor where the [[Vordine]] resistance is active.
## Physical Description
- Originally made from dwarves (not elves as initially thought) subjected to Fleshwarp practices
- A mess of limbs and organs with parts that should be internal left in full display
- Large creature with 20-foot reach
- Has tentacles
- No longer resembles a dwarf - it is made *from* dwarves
## Abilities
- **Tentacle Attack**: Don't let the tentacles hit you - they will overwhelm you with corrupted images of a ruined life, rendering you stunned for the next few turns
- **Alien Shriek**: Once per day, can unleash an alien shriek of nightmarish horror and pain that causes *Stupefied*
- **Mind Attack**: Has mental attack capabilities
- **Large Reach**: 20-foot reach with tentacles
## Current Status
The Irnakurse has been injured by the [[Vordine]] devils [[Inqator]] and [[Zemna]] using infernal malediction. It was permanently *Frightened 2* due to this curse. The Vordines killed many creatures and dragged them into the room where the Irnakurse resided, but the Irnakurse itself was a relatively new arrival. **The Irnakurse was defeated and killed by the party during [[099_20251026 The Dwarven Irnakurse]].**
## Tactics
The Irnakurse is not very smart but is formidable. It has not changed tactics in the last few times that the devils tried to attack it, suggesting it follows predictable patterns despite its power.
## Origin
Irnakurses periodically crawl to the surface from the greatest depths of the Darklands. This particular one was likely created by [[Jafaki]] as part of his experiments with Fleshwarp practices.
## Defeat (Session 099)
During [[099_20251026 The Dwarven Irnakurse]], the party entered the Irnakurse's room and engaged it in combat. [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]] realized during combat that the creature was actually made from dwarf parts, not elves as previously thought. The party quickly overwhelmed the creature despite its Soul Scream attack, which stupefied [[Zuhri]] and [[Grumblebum]] and caused [[Ashnefrotty]] to experience visions of dwarves being cut apart by a mantis-like humanoid in a surgical mask. Bond delivered a critical hit with triple damage, and Zuhri finished it off with the killing blow.
