Jafaki is a [[Sugathi]] (worm-like creature) that made flesh warps for [[Belcorra]] to turn them into some sort of golem army.
## Early Intelligence ([[084_20250309 Lurem's Last Words]])
According to [[Lurem]] in [[084_20250309 Lurem's Last Words]]:
- **Flesh Warp that makes Flesh Warps** - he was the creator of flesh warps
- **Important member of Belcorra's organization** alongside [[Volluk Azrinae]]
- **Was making an army** - specifically building golems
- **Professional fleshwarp fleshwrite** and Belcorra's top servant
- **This level was an arena** where Jafaki was conducting his experiments
## Species Clarification
In [[095_20250831 The Paper Mummy]], [[Chafkem]] referred to Jafaki as "that [[Sugathi]], that worm that [[Jafaki]] is," clarifying that Jafaki is actually a Sugathi rather than a Flesh Warp. Sugathi appear to be a species of worm-like creatures.
## Relationship with Chafkem
According to Chafkem in [[095_20250831 The Paper Mummy]]:
- **Imprisoned Chafkem** - Jafaki was responsible for trapping Chafkem in a sealed room for centuries
- **Forced transformation** - Jafaki appears to have forced Chafkem into his current paper-wrapped, mummy-like state
- **Usurped authority** - Chafkem was the administrator of Level 5 before Jafaki took control
- **Long-standing enemy** - Chafkem seeks revenge against Jafaki for his imprisonment and transformation
## Combat Information ([[096_20250927 Don't wake the sleeping Destrachan]])
Intelligence gathered from [[Chafkem]] reveals:
- **Confusion field** - has a field around him that confuses people
- **Fleshwarper, alchemist, caster** - multiple magical and alchemical abilities
- **Prehensile legs** - his legs can hold things
- **Damage resistances**:
- Resistant to bludgeoning damage
- Immune to mental effects
- Immune to poison
## Current Conflict (Session 098)
Jafaki is currently engaged in a war against [[Vordine]] devil forces on the Gauntlight floor. The [[Vordine]] resistance, led by [[General Urevian]], has been planning for hundreds of years to establish a foothold against Jafaki's forces. The Vordine soldiers [[Inqator]] and [[Zemna]] are actively resisting Jafaki's control and have successfully injured an [[Irnakurse]] creature that was likely created by Jafaki through Fleshwarp practices.
The Vordine resistance has established mutual interests with the party against [[Belcorra]], though they declined to join forces directly as they only take orders from their commanding officers. They have agreed to report the party's presence to their superiors and provided valuable intelligence about the Irnakurse creature.
## Arena Champion Transformation (Session 094)
- **Jade Quarion transformation**: Confirmed by [[Siora Fallowglade]] to have captured [[Jade Quarion]], the arena champion, and transformed him into an abomination
- **Arena experiments**: The arena was used as a testing ground for Jafaki's fleshwarp experiments, with Jade Quarion being one of his victims
