# [[Odasa]]
*Gloam*
Odasa, also known as *Gloam*, is a pale halfling cleric that [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]] somehow knows from before he met [[Zuhri]]. Gloam is obsessed with death and dying, as a cleric of [[Pharasma]]. He has a cloak and speaks in a high-pitched voice.
His religious beliefs unfortunately put him at odds with the existence of undead, including [[Vayle]], who has triggered Gloam's shield. Apparently Gloam's shield alerts him to the presence of undead.
## Relationship with Church Hierarchy
In [[095_20250831 The Paper Mummy]], [[Aiden Court]], a High Cleric of Pharasma (higher ranking than Gloam), referred to Gloam as their "wayward child" because Gloam hasn't been attending church regularly. This suggests Gloam has been neglecting his formal religious duties, possibly due to his adventures with [[Calamity's Ruin]] and his focus on The Gauntlight.
## Session 118 — Gloam Is Zuhri's Brother
The soul-gem eye's stored memories captured Gloam alone, and the recording rewrote the party's understanding of him entirely.
- **Surveillance subject 9310**: The eye recorded a small cloaked figure with a glowing shield moving through [[Level 6]] of [[The Gauntlight]] *alone* — later recognized as Gloam
- **Looking for something specific**: He searched the level, wrote a message on the wall, and left
- **The wall message**: Written in a childhood shorthand "only siblings use." [[Zuhri]] could read it; it said *"I was here. I'm still looking."*
- **MAJOR REVELATION — Gloam is Zuhri's brother**: That only Zuhri could read the sibling shorthand revealed that Gloam is her brother. This is the first concrete link between Zuhri's lost origins and a living person
- **Zuhri's message back** (composed but not yet delivered): *"I remember the game. I remember how to read your note in The Gauntlight. I remember you are my pack, brother. Vayle is my pack too. Please, find me before we find ourselves on opposite sides of a conflict."*
- **Gone with the Pharasmins**: When Zuhri went looking for Gloam in town, he was absent from both his shops (a butchery and a morgue). [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]] determined Gloam had gone with the [[Pharasma|Pharasmins]] — and that he had *no choice* in it. The rest of [[Calamity's Ruin]] is also no longer in town
- **Looming conflict**: With the Pharasmin clergy split over benevolent undead like [[Vayle]], Gloam and Zuhri risk ending up on opposite sides
