# [[Siora Fallowglade]]
![[Siora Fallowglade.svg]]
**Siora Fallowglade** is [[Belcorra]]'s top elven assassin and a dangerous threat within The Gauntlight.
## Background & Role
- **Top elven assassin** of [[Belcorra]]
- **Avid mapmaker** who has a map of Level 5
- Located in the **southeast corner** of Level 5
- Described as **STRONG** and **stinky**
## Current Form
- **Shadow form** - a silhouette of a female drow elf with one yellow eye shining
- **L6 creature** - a bit stronger than a normal shadow
- **Has assassin abilities** but is not full shadow
- **Hunger for shadows** - wants other creature's shadow, when she gets it, it becomes another shadow
- **Weakened by hunger** - hasn't eaten/fed in a while, making her more vulnerable but also weaker
- **Doesn't have legs** like [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]]
- **Part-elven, part-shadow** - not a typical shadow creature
## Relationship with Lurem
According to [[Lurem]] in [[084_20250309 Lurem's Last Words]]:
- **Siora killed Lurem** thinking he had the key to escape Level 5 after Belcorra died
- **He didn't have the key** - none of them could escape this level
- Siora was desperate to escape and willing to kill for information
## Relationship with Ash
- **Siora killed [[Ashnefrotty|Ash]]** - Ash recognizes her as the one who killed him
- **Ash seeks vengeance** against Siora for his death
## Knowledge of Events
- **Belcorra's death** - when Belcorra died, the dungeon died with her
- **Necrotic wave** - Belcorra was killed by a wave of necrotic energy, which Siora thinks Belcorra released as she died
- **Jafaki's location** - knows that [[Jafaki]] is in the level just below, protected by his machines
## Current Status
- **Encountered by the party** in [[092_20250727 Avenging Ash]]
- **Recognizes [[Vayle]] as undead** - says they are the same in that they are both there for Belcorra, but for different reasons
- **Confronted by [[Zuhri]]** who declares vengeance and attacks
## Session 115 — Liberation by the Cailean Key
- **Continued Possession**: Combat continues with Siora spawning multiple shadow duplicates and attacking the party with Shadow Hand attacks, leaving [[Grumblebum|Grumble]] Enfeebled 4
- **Luring the Party**: Repeatedly insists "the fastest exit is this way" and "the closest exit is that way," trying to guide the party toward the southwest while still under [[Belcorra]]'s influence
- **Greater Shadow Form**: [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]]'s *Thoughtful Reload* confirms this is a Greater Shadow (Level 7) — intelligent, hungers for flesh it cannot eat, has Light Vulnerability, and resistance 20 (except force, ghost touch, vitality), doubled against nonmagical attacks
- **The Real Siora Marked**: [[Zuhri]] uses a Perception check to identify the true Siora among the duplicates so [[Vayle]] can target her
- **Freed by the Cailean Key**: Vayle brandishes the newly-awakened [[Cailean Key]] at the real Siora; the counteract (rank 4, +19) breaks Belcorra's hold, collapses the duplicates, and ends the party's Stupefied conditions
- **Debt-Bound to the Party**: Now freed of both her Red Mantis contract (session 113) and Belcorra's possession, Siora is debt-bound to the party and begins guiding them toward the southwest exit of [[The Gauntlight]]
## Session 114 — Freed, Reclaimed, and Forced to Fight
- **Returns to the Party**: When the party returns to [[The Gauntlight]], Siora meets them and thanks them for setting her free—saying they have done the unthinkable and she owes them her eternal thanks
- **Warning about Achaekek**: Tells the party that the lord [[Achaekek]] protects contracts and will not look kindly on what [[Vayle]] has done by breaking her contract
- **Ritual Offer**: Explains Vayle could conduct a ritual to hire a Red Mantis assassin from her religious order and give them a job
- **Cannot Warn Party**: When asked if she would warn the party of contracts taken out against them, she says it is not up to her—it is up to her god
- **Confronted by Belcorra**: As she turns to leave, [[Belcorra]] herself appears and declares "If I cannot keep you, I will make your freedom meaningless"
- **Reclaimed by Belcorra**: Combat begins; her form hunches again as she is pulled back under Belcorra's influence, is healed by Belcorra, and summons a Shadow Echo
- **Struggling to Resist**: After Belcorra fades, Siora's form briefly reforms to the Siora the party knows and she admits she "can't hold it for long" and needs to get away from Belcorra's domain
## Session 113 — Contract Broken, Dissipation
- **Deformed Appearance**: Still shadowy with one red eye gleaming in the darkness, still holding her mantis blades, but now crumpled, bent over, and deformed
- **Memory of Death**: Remembers that [[Vayle]] killed her
- **Still Under Belcorra's Control**: Not free of [[Belcorra]]'s influence even after dying
- **Target Demand**: Asked the party for a target to fulfill her contract; they named [[Jafaki]], and she told them to lure him to her level in two days
- **CONTRACT BROKEN**: Vayle broke her Red Mantis assassination contract. The energy that made Siora undead and bound transferred into Vayle, giving them *Doomed* 1
- **Dissipated**: Slumped to the floor and dissipated after the contract was broken; her ultimate fate is unknown
## Session 112 — Twin apparitions on Level 5
At the close of [[112_20260404 The Pentagram Shards]], after the party ascended toward [[Level 6]] and then stepped back onto [[Level 5]], **two** figures resembling Siora appeared together, smiling, and said "We need to talk." Whether these are shadows, possession echoes, or another trick of [[Belcorra]] is unresolved.
## Session 093 - Possession by Belcorra
- **POSSESSED BY BELCORRA**: Siora's shadow transforms to show [[Belcorra]]'s face during combat
- **Forced to fight**: Belcorra declares "I'm going to kill you now. Not because I want to, but because SHE does"
- **Pleads for help**: Siora desperately asks the party to "Kill me fast or flee... If only there was a way to stop her control, I could be free"
- **Multiple manifestations**: Multiple Siora shadows appear simultaneously, acting as incorporeal entities
- **Combat abilities**: Wields twin chakrams in devastating area attacks within 20 feet
- **Resistance**: Resistant 5 to all damage except vitality, incorporeal (can walk through walls, immune to physical manipulation)
- **Unholy nature**: Deals slashing and void damage
- **Autonomy retained**: Despite possession, Siora retains some awareness and desperately wants freedom from Belcorra's control
## Session 096 - Death by Heal Spell
- **Fatal Healing**: Was accidentally killed by [[Vayle]]'s *Heal* spell when Vayle attempted to heal [[Aiden Court]]
- **Undead Nature Revealed**: Vayle's damage from the same *Heal* spell revealed their undead nature to Court
- **Multiple Manifestations**: All the Sioras were around Aiden during this encounter
- **Combat Context**: Siora had been trying to talk to Aiden Court but he didn't listen and was attacking him, with Siora winning the confrontation
## Session 095 - Warning from Vayle
- **Warning Given**: [[Vayle]] warned High Cleric [[Aiden Court]] and his apprentices to flee if they encounter Siora
- **Church Awareness**: The Church of [[Pharasma]] is now aware of Siora as a dangerous threat in the dungeon
- **Apprentice Gratitude**: One of Aiden's apprentices silently thanked the party for the warning about Siora
## Session 094 - Red Mantis Assassin Revelation
- **RED MANTIS ASSASSIN**: Siora is revealed to be a member of [[The Red Mantis Assassins]]
- **Assassin code**: Follows the strict Red Mantis code - never kills kings or rulers (believes they are divinely protected), everyone else is fair game
- **Unbreakable oath**: Once they take a contract through verbal rituals (no written proof needed), nothing stops them from fulfilling it
- **Trapped by oath**: Siora appears to be stuck because of her own unfulfilled contract, unable to move on until she completes it
- **Contract details**: Red Mantis contracts are verbal rituals requiring no paper or written proof
- **Jade Quarion information**: Reveals that [[Jade Quarion]] was the champion of the arena before [[Jafaki]] captured and transformed him into an abomination
