## Description
A secretive and widely feared group of assassins sworn to [[Achaekek]]. They are deadly but they don't do things like kill kings. They have their own code.
## Beliefs and Practices
- They are sworn to [[Achaekek]], who defends gods from mortals that are about to ascend to godhood
- They refuse to kill monarchs because they think monarchs are divinely protected to rule
- When they kill, the death must be face to face-- not through poison or range-- and the final blow must be dealt by a sawtooth saber
- They are not deceptive and always follow through
- They have weird rules for accepting contracts
## Equipment
- Sawtooth sabers - their signature weapon used for the final blow in all assassinations
## Known Activities
- Killed guards in [[Otari (Gauntlight Keep)|Gauntlight Keep]] long ago
- The guards were killed one at a time, then dragged to a specific location
- They were all surprised, and killed by one or two hits
## Session 094 - Siora Fallowglade Connection
- **Siora Fallowglade**: [[Siora Fallowglade]] is revealed to be a Red Mantis Assassin
- **Contract system**: Red Mantis contracts are verbal rituals requiring no paper or written proof
- **Unbreakable oath**: Once they take a contract, nothing stops them from fulfilling it - this may explain Siora's current trapped state
- **Code adherence**: Siora follows the strict Red Mantis code, never killing kings or rulers (believes they are divinely protected)
