# [[The Roseguard]]
The Roseguard are an adventuring party from [[Absalom]] who defeated an evil sorceress in [[The Gauntlight]] and then stopped adventuring to found the city of [[Otari]].
## The True Story
According to a beggar in [[Otari]], the true story of the Roseguard is much darker than the official version. Right after they defeated [[Belcorra]], they all went insane. They didn't die immediately - they died slowly. Everyone in Otari is covering this up, wanting people to think they were big heroes who saved the town. But they don't tell what happened afterwards. They just hid them all away and told stories. Their descendants know the real truth.
