# [[Tomb Warden]]
An ancient dwarven order created to guard tombs against robbers. The Tomb Wardens are a prestigious order that protects tombs, which are well-protected and decorated in dwarven culture. Dwarves respect their dead and commune with them, making tomb protection a sacred duty.
## Purpose
The Tomb Wardens were specifically created to guard the tomb of [[Zarmavdian]], though they protect other important dwarven tombs as well. They ensure that the resting places of the honored dead remain undisturbed by grave robbers and other threats.
## Traditions
- **Respect for the Dead**: Dwarves respect their dead and commune with them
- **Tomb Decoration**: Tombs are well-protected and decorated
- **Returning the Dead**: Tomb Wardens typically bring their dead back to their homeland for proper burial
- **Clan Daggers**: Each Tomb Warden carries a ceremonial clan dagger that signifies their membership to a specific clan
## Discovery
The party discovered the remains of Tomb Wardens in a ravine near [[Absalom]], which was highly unusual since Tomb Wardens typically bring their dead back to the [[Dwarvenlands]]. This discovery raised questions about what brought these guardians so far from their homeland.
## Clan Daggers
Tomb Wardens carry ceremonial daggers from their respective clans. Each clan has specific attributes they excel at, and the daggers serve as both weapons and symbols of clan membership. The party recovered four different clan daggers from the fallen Tomb Wardens.
