1. Reroll a Check

2. Heroic Recovery
- Invoke an **Aspect** and spend **all** of your remaining Hero Points at the start of your turn or when your dying value would increase.
- Wake up at 1 HP. Lose the `dying` condition. `Wounded` value doesn’t increase. You are `prone` and have let go of held items.
3. Assist with Consequences
- Invoke an **Aspect** and spend **1 Hero Point** *after* an ally **fails** a roll. Your ally must use the second result. This is a `fortune` effect.
- You share the consequences.
4. Declare a Story Detail
- Invoke an **Aspect** and add a meaningful narrative element when in makes sense in the fiction.
- Tweak your backstory.
5. Invoke a Flashback
- Spend **1 or more Hero Points** to change something in the *past* to give you a slight advantage *now*.
- Cost depends on opportunity, plausibility, and potency of the advantage.
- You can’t change truths that are already canon.
- Examples:
- Add an item to your inventory. Pay for its cost in gold.
- Create a helpful NPC.

## Staves
### How to cast spells from staves (spontaneous casters)
- We start with a number of charges equal to your highest rank of spell (4 right now)
- When we cast a spell, we expend one charge and one spell slot of ours equal or lower to the spell we're casting.
