# House Rules Main rulebook: [[Pathfinder]] 2e Core Rulebook - You can have ranged weapons loaded while stowed, but at a small risk of losing your ammo or at worst hitting yourself. - Lore skills will level up with class DC. - Hero points can be used to change the narrative. ## Additional sourcebooks - Battlezoo forging system ## Helping The DC for helping is the [[031_20221229 Treat yo self#^8a968e|DC of the task]] that you're helping someone with. ## Hero points - When you use hero points, you have to tie it to an aspect of your character. - Use a hero point to change the story-- something believable. - Use a hero point to make a flashback, only if it's conceivable that you would have had time to prepare for this. - Use a hero point to gain an extra use of a one-use (consumables) or daily item. ## Hero points Invoke an **Aspect** and spend **Hero Points** to do one of the following: 1. Reroll a Check - Invoke an **Aspect** and spend **1 Hero Point**. You must use the second result. This is a `fortune` effect. 2. Heroic Recovery - Invoke an **Aspect** and spend **all** of your remaining Hero Points at the start of your turn or when your dying value would increase. - Wake up at 1 HP. Lose the `dying` condition. `Wounded` value doesn’t increase. You are `prone` and have let go of held items. 3. Assist with Consequences - Invoke an **Aspect** and spend **1 Hero Point** *after* an ally **fails** a roll. Your ally must use the second result. This is a `fortune` effect. - You share the consequences. 4. Declare a Story Detail - Invoke an **Aspect** and add a meaningful narrative element when in makes sense in the fiction. - Tweak your backstory. 5. Invoke a Flashback - Spend **1 or more Hero Points** to change something in the *past* to give you a slight advantage *now*. - Cost depends on opportunity, plausibility, and potency of the advantage. - You can’t change truths that are already canon. - Examples: - Add an item to your inventory. Pay for its cost in gold. - Create a helpful NPC. 6. Gain an Extra Use of a One-Use or Daily Item - Subject to DM approval. ## Staves ### How to cast spells from staves (spontaneous casters) - We start with a number of charges equal to your highest rank of spell (4 right now) - When we cast a spell, we expend one charge and one spell slot of ours equal or lower to the spell we're casting.
