# [[Vordine]]

[[Vordine]] is a faction of devil soldiers who were formerly known as [[Barbazu]]. They are currently engaged in a resistance against [[Jafaki]]'s forces in the Gauntlight, seeking to fulfill a contract made by their commanding officer [[General Urevian]].
## Faction Characteristics
- Low-level devils
- Typically lawful with organized military structure (squads, units, and platoons)
- Serve as the grunts of the devil hierarchy
- Formerly known as Barbazu before their current designation
## Current Mission
The Vordine resistance has been planning for hundreds of years to establish a foothold in the Gauntlight. They are fighting against [[Jafaki]]'s forces and seeking to fulfill a contract made by their boss General Urevian.
## Military Structure
- **Commanding Officer**: [[General Urevian]]
- **Field Soldiers**: [[Inqator]] and [[Zemna]]
- **Communication**: [[Scree]] (a [[Zibub]] messenger)
## Tactics and Abilities
- Wield two-handed glaives
- Can use infernal malediction to curse enemies
- Have successfully injured an [[Irnakurse]] creature, giving it a permanent *Frightened 2* curse
- Use [[Zibub]] messengers for communication with superiors
## Current Status
The Vordine resistance currently holds only one room on their floor of the Gauntlight but plans to make incursions into the rest soon. If they succeed in securing their foothold, more Vordine forces will be sent to reinforce their position.
## Relationship with the Party
The Vordine soldiers established mutual interests with the party against [[Belcorra]], though they declined to join forces directly as they only take orders from their commanding officers. They agreed to report the party's presence to their superiors and provided valuable intelligence about the Irnakurse creature.
## Session 112 — Training hall
In [[112_20260404 The Pentagram Shards]], multiple Vordines guarded east and west double doors around a central staging area while a Level 5 instructor whipped [[Grothlut|Grothluts]] and [[Dreshkan|Dreshkans]] through drills. After combat ended, that instructor accepted [[Jaspen Bond Callistair|Bond]] and [[Vayle]] as credible allies of [[General Urevian]], handed Vayle a pentagram-door shard, and prepared to move a [[Fleshwarp|Fleshwarp]] host toward [[Absalom]] against [[Jafaki]]. Another Vordine directed the party toward [[Aulr]]'s adjoining chamber.
