## Appearance
Asoi appear as black birds with masks, giving them a distinctive and mysterious appearance that reflects their role as intermediaries between life and death.
## Role in Divine Rituals
During the events of [[048_20230909 The Duskwalker Awakening]], a dozen asoi appeared around [[Karsh]] as [[Gloam]] prayed to [[Pharasma]] for Karsh's salvation. These divine creatures witnessed and facilitated Karsh's transformation from undead ghoul to [[Duskwalkers|Duskwalker]], forming a spiral pattern before the topmost birds disappeared, indicating the successful completion of the divine ritual.
## Connection to Psychopomps
As a type of [[psychopomps]], asoi are connected to death and serve [[Pharasma]] in guiding souls through their journey between life and death. They are the creatures that have always brought souls to the boneyard where they are judged by Pharasma.
